Hi,
I have the speaker hum that seems to be sorta common with some games. It is loud and I am sure that this much hum cannot be acceptable when the tables were sold. I recapped the sound card today in hopes it would solve/help and it did not. I plan to do the power source next. The monitor pcb look as they have been sometime within the last few years.

Is there any suggestions on helping to lower the hum? Could the power supply cause hum and not have any issues showing up on the monitor?

Thanks for any leads,

I replaced the trimmer pot, cleaned the small pcb, and recut the wires going to that board. That seemed to help cut out some of the hum. I am mostly convinced that it is a power supply issue now since turning down the volume of the machine with that trimmer pot does not remove the hum. So that means it is not coming from the audio amp section. I will recap the gold power box next.

On a side note, can someone point me to the trim pots that control the mix of the background noise verses the jumpman effect noise? I see the picture of the pcb on the paper inside but it does not match (i.e I can't find) the location of the the 3 trimmers. Any clues to their location? This is a cocktail 4 pcb board.

Thanks,

VR1 on the sound pcb (half size board in front) controls the balance between digital and analog sounds. Upper left corner.
