I'm picking this up tomorrow and the guy is giving it to me.

It's a TMNT on both sides. So I'm assuming it's 4 player.

I no nothing about this cab and it's obvious one of the monitors isn't working.

What am I in for with this system. Common issues and such.

Is this thing even worth.....free?

This is the upright version of the Vs. Dualsystem (the red tent being the sitdown counterpart). Though, if it has Konami TMNT in it, then it's been JAMMAtized which means it may or may not have the original Nintendo wiring and/or parts inside to serve as a Vs. Dualsystem. So it could be just a 4P JAMMA cab in a Vs. Dualsystem upright cabinet shell. But free is good and you could always find a 4P Konami cab to put TMNT in where it belongs.

Knowing my luck, it's jammatized. Seems to be all I get. Guess I'll find out.

AGHH... hella jealous... specially since it's in WA...

Don't be. It's luck for once.

I got a call tonight from a family member saying that a friend of his had an "arcade thing" that he would give me if I was still into "arcades".

I said "shit yeah" and a few minutes later I got a pic. Can't get it tonight because of other commitments.

Free is almost always good. At the very least it may have 1 good monitor and maybe another fixable. - Barry

Free in terms of arcade games is usually always good. It's worth the parts if thats what your looking for. Heck, you can even part it out for some profit (more games) if it turns into a horror project. No harm done. :)

If it's in somewhat original condition (inside) there won't be any "parting out". I would much rather find and help someone out who would restore it to it's former glory. Just seems like the right thing to do.

I am not in this hobby for the money. I have a genuine "love" for arcade games and one day I will have what I want. I will help out as many people as I can with my limited knowledge. I'm learning and having fun along the way even with the frustrations that come with it.

I'd take vote for restoring it if it's not to late for that nintendo cab.

Restoring is an option. I think that may be the least popular nintendo cab out there. That being said if the parts are available and you like Vs games I say go for it. I've definately spent more cash bringing games back to life than they are worth. It's all for the fun though so it's all good.

If you should choose to restore, I know where some parts are depending on the games you want in it. - Barry

I have taken a different approach lately. With all the help I have received, I want to try and give something back. (POS K7000 kicking my ARS).

Once I get the thing home tomorrow, We'll see....

Just because it's big-boned doesn't mean you have to hate it. :) But really, that's the biggest issue with this cab is that it's huge. BUT, I have one and I love mine. I had to completely disassemble the control panel section in order to get it through my doorways and into my basement. I thought ahead and put it all back together with L-brackets in case I ever need to get it back out of the basement.

I know of a local guy with parts to help you restore it to as well, if that is what you choose to do. From the limited info you have given it sounds like it has a single Jamma harness supplying both sides of the cab. I have a similarly set up cab in my shed right now...
