Got a DK I was possibly looking at getting. The guy is telling me it works fine except for this one issue. He says sometimes the far right of the monitor will do a "curl". About 1 to 1 1/2 inches worth.

I know thats not alot of info and he may not be explaining it right. But anyone got a clue? Is this an adjustment on the chassis, a cap kit, or possibly something else.

Trying to decide if I want to get it, how much to offer for it with this issue. Cosmetically, it looks good all the way around with good side art as well.

Edit: Sorry, just realized this should have probably been in the monitor repair section. I don't know how to move it though.

If it is the Sanyo EZ, the curl/foldover is the most common problem that a cap kit will likely fix.

Actually have the same issue on my DK. I have about 1 to 1-1/2 inch black bars on each side (shrunken picture). If I try to adjust it, the curl or foldover happens. It is on deck for capping.

Go for it, easy fix.

I found one too locally for sale but I decided to pass on it. Still acquiring parts to make my own :)

I just bought a Donkey Kong from a guy in Prince George today. Its got the problem you are
describing. Is this the game you were looking at?

did you use a deluxe kit? How many caps did you replace? You still have a bad cap on that chassis.

Bob Roberts Deluxe kit.. I think it was around 25 caps.. It did make the foldover a little better I was able to increase the screen size by about 1 inch.. I have about a inch on both sides from being full screen and it looks good there, if i push it bigger foldover.. Could it be a pot problem on the game board?

hmmm, strange.. Please keep us posted on this issue.

Check the h/v pots on the game board. I had a similar issue with a dkj board. Or at least that's what it sounds like without seeing yours. Have you tried a different board with the monitor?

One thing to keep in mind is the picture will not fill the entire screen.
There will still be about an inch or two left unused iirc.
