Yeah, there was a post recently in the ebay/CL thread about a sealed Mega Man 1. It sold for over $1000 I think.
The most rare game is the Gold Nintendo World Championship cartridge. I think only a handful were made to be given to the winners after the competition. They've sold for up to $20,000 I believe.

This was simply due to the one game and the fact that it was boxed up and in nice shape.

I can't wait for people to start listing their old NES on CL for hundreds or even thousands of dollars and referencing that auction.

It's sad to think that game went for that much money, and you can buy World Class Track Meet for a couple of bucks, and they are the same damn game!

I think those gold cartridges were given out as prizes in a separate contest held by Nintendo Power magazine at this competition. There were 26 of them made and 12 are known to exist. Where are the other 14????

Not suprising, I say good for them. They were probably on the hunt for YEARS....
I was really big into the nes when first came out and I tried to the best of my ability to get every Nintendo cartridge that came out. Anyway I swear I remember seeing this game at Wal-Mart way back when! I passed on it since I didn't have the powerpad. The following week I got once and guess what...Not a single damn copy on the shelves!!!! Damn I wish I had a time machine!!!!

If you have this game, do yourself a favor and make sure somebody pays you what it's worth. "
