I have a gutted Nintendo cab that I was originally going to restore to Mario Bros. (or Vs. Super Mario Bros. ... boy, the options!) I have a local source with complete games, and all the parts I need, but when you factor in how much I need, I could just buy a whole game. and that defeats the purpose of the restoration.

my cab lacks monitor brackets. I could buy new ones from QuarterArcade, but I've been told that only the Sanyo monitors will work with them. I have what I believe is a WG U3000/U3100 (it's 19" VGA) and figure after all's said and done, I could use this cab for MAME... and have extra parts for using it for classic Nintendo too.

so the short-form question after I gave the long-form: will my Wells monitor mount with replacement monitor brackets for a Nintendo cab?

and the cab's already been molested with black paint and a scalpel -- I'm not committing cardinal sin with the MAME thing. (I fucking hate when people take complete games with no problems and turn them into MAME cabs -- go to hell Hollywood Arcade)

EDIT: the parts http://www.quarterarcade.com/Game.aspx/5995

I believe you need a video inverter board like this.

19 inch horizontal ("Shelf" ) mount monitors will fit the Nintendo monitor mounting brackets. The "universal" and vertical mount monitors will NOT fit.

Monitors that have a built-in switching power supply (the type of monitor that does not need an isolation transformer) can plug right into the 100 volt monitor outlet in the game cabinet and work fine. Conventional 120 volt monitors that need an isolation transformer should not be run on 100 volts as that's below their design specs.

Ken what would be the best way to run a non sanyo monitor in a vertical orientation in a Nintendo cab? Seems like the frame on other monitors would get caught in the back door

there's a special place in hell for those dudes. :D

I won't be needing an inverter, unless of course I get my hands on a standard res monitor. who knows, might go the full nine and restore it to Vs./classic spec. just need a power supply for it, and wiring harnesses.

at least I know I can use a non-Sanyo monitor with those brackets. :) I won't be running vertical at all, so I shouldn't have problems.
