I passively tried asking this in the restoration forum but there hasn't been much thread traffic there, so I'll try here, as I have to know if there is any interest this week.

I am wondering if anyone has a source for the perfectly flat brown stuff that the Nintendo cabarets used that I don't know about. If not, I received a sample 5/8" Brown molding from a company that makes/ sells molding for the furniture industry. It does have a slight crown, similar to the 9/16" white t-molding that has been sold thru T-molding.com for years. The crown will flatten a bit when installed, but there is more material in the middle, so it is never going to be perfectly flat. That really doesn't bother me, but I know there are a lot of armchair collectors out there that it will bother. This stuff is a near perfect color match and the 5/8" stuff is the perfect width. It has a satin finish rather than the gloss finish of the original stuff, but it really looks good installed. I know it's not an EXACT match for the original, but if there is no other source, it would be a very good replacement for these ugly little bastards.

The deal is, I have to order 500 feet if I decide to go with this stuff, so I would obviously have a ton of extra left over. I would have enough for about 30 cabs' worth after I keep what I need. So, if there is no exact match for the original, how many people would be interested in getting a 15 foot piece of this stuff for their machines? That should cover both sides, the roof piece and the CP. I am thinking around $15 for a roll plus shipping, so probably around $22-23 shipped per machine.

Well I have a DK cabaret that will needs some as soon as I get around to restoring it and I've been thinking about a suitable replacement. You can count me in for a 15' roll. I might even buy a couple extra rolls from ya if that's possible.

Yeah, as many xtra as you want, up to 27. Like I said, I will have enough left for 30 fifteen foot rolls. None of it is spoken for, except by you and Atlass in the other thread. I will reserve the xtra for you unless I get flooded with interested parties, then you'll have to tell me for sure how much you're buying.

-Atlass (1-2 rolls)
-Lanky Kong (1-3 rolls)

Phet before you order that this place sells 13/16" flat style in brown. All you would need is one of those trimmers like I mentioned.

I'm fine with this stuff. I'm not gay for totally flat molding like a lot of these guys seem to be. I always thought (and still do think) that the 9/16" white T-molding that tmolding.com sells for DK style cabinets is perfectly acceptable. If anyone else wants to buy that 13/16 or 27/32 or 55/64 stuff, then trim it, that's up to them. As for me and mine, we will be fine with a little crown, as long as the color and fit are right.

Oh and another option for the 'must be flat' guys is to buy Bill's tru-flat white, then spray paint it with gloss brown Krylon fusion paint.

Now, if trimming or painting your brand new T-molding sounds too risky or like too much work, this stuff I am offering is the stuff is for you.

I figured I would mention it, the trimmer I have is cheap and brain dead simple. I am just glad the molding on my cab is in good shape.

I would like to replace the t-molding on my DK mini, but am one of those guys that would like the flat t-molding. However, if my choices are having to paint white t-molding vs. using a slightly rounded t-molding, then the later will win. I just wish there was an acceptable solution available.

I have never cut t-molding from the side like that, so how truly dead simple/easy is it (without scratching the sides of the cabinet)?

Easy, the tool I mentioned wouldn't scratch it.

So just the 2 of you? Well let me crunch some numbers and see if it's worth it. If I get rid of only 60 feet of it, that will leave me with 440 feet sitting around. Hmmmm, me no likely those numbers. I will try to talk them into selling me less.

OK guys sorry for the delay, but I ordered my 500 ft coil today. So anyone that wants a 15 foot coil, can either post here or just paypal $25.50 to

phetishboy @hotmail.com

-no space

$25.50 should cover the molding, shipping and PP fees. If the shipping ends up being more than $10 (it shouldn't) I will adjust the price accordingly after the first paid orders ship out.

Sweet! I might buy some extra since this is a one-time deal. Thanks for investing the cash to make this happen.
