As long as you get the wiring harness you are good to go. Nintendo cabs for DK, DK JR, DK3, and Popeye are all the same cab type. You could check with dokert to see if he has anymore super harnesses available (those work universally for DK, DKJR, DK3, Original Mario Bros, and Popeye).

Not sure on the Vs Super Mario but DK & DKJR both use -5v and Popeye doesn't.
The Popeye power supply doesn't output the +12v and -5v that DK needs.

sorry I ment popeye doesn't use the -5, I remember I converrted a popeye into dk and I had to swap the adapter because it lacked the -5.

+12 is used in all the games afaik.

I am more concerned about the shape of the game, I have to decide if to buy one remotely and not sure if I can convert it once arrived. looks the same from the pic but for example what are those two bolts on the side of the bezel?

probably this was already an official copnversion from one of the many dk or popeye into super mario at that time...but not sure.

I looked at thew pinout for Popeye on line and it said the +12v is N/A.
Those bolts near the bezel shouldn't be there and were added by someone.
The only thing I would think they would be for is for holding a monitor, but it has the 3 bolts in the side Nintendo used for horizontal monitor mounting.
I would ask the seller what they are for and see if he will send a pic the inside of the bezel area.

Those may be "security bolts" to prevent removal of the bezel? I've seen those before on other cabs. Definately not factory.
