In my playchoice 10 the bottom monitor will discharge about every 1-2 minitues and causes the picture to jump/flicker. I did a cap kit on it and touched up all of the solder. The anoide is attached to the tube good. It will click loudly about every min. or so. I don't see anything arching and there are no burn spots and it is not constant, all the time only about 1 click every min. The bottom monitor does it but the top one is fine. What should I look for?
Thanks

That same exact thing was happening on my Arm Wrestling. I decided to leave the machine on for a few hours and it stopped.

Try cleaning the picture tube. I've seen this happen when there is so much grime on the back of the picture tube so as to create a path for HV to arc. Remove the HV anode (discharge first obviously), and clean the area around it with Windex. Clean the inside of the rubber cup too.

If it still does it, then it could also be the flyback with a pinhole in it. In a dark room, watch carefully for the blue arc to let you know where it's coming from.

thanks for the sugestions,
I think it is a pretty common problem.
I think a year ago I had a donkey kong doing the same thing.

The fly is most likely going out. I had it happen on my Playchoice. I capped both monitors and once I got the b+ adjusted to 108 one of the monitors started doing the same thing. I bought a new fly and problem solved. - Barry
