I just picked up a Popeye in excellent condition today. Everything works and looks great. I wanted to switch it over to a VS Super Mario. I have the VS Box and PCB board and chips. I pulled these out of a working Pac-man to VS SMB conversion I purchased a few months ago. Here is the problem. When I took the Popeye PCB out it had two boards and one harness. The VS PCB has one board and two harneses. Can anyone give me some advice on how to convert this over to the VS SMB? The manuel I found on the web for the VS conversion stated that the power supply need to be switched and the fuse changed from a 4v to a 5v. Any help I can get would be appreciated!!

You need a complete Vs. Harness. They are a dime a dozen and you'll find one of those no problem. Post a pic of your power supply if it is DK style, you're good.

I have attached the pictures.

I have the extra harness, control panel and controls from the Pacman-SMB conversion that i took the VS out of. My main issue is the power supply. I don't think the popeye will run the VS. I pluged it in and it acts like it is not getting power. Now the popeye will not work either. It must have blown a fuse....

Yep, you have the inferior Popeye style. You need to get the newer Vs. style (thin silver box with built in surface mount molex style connector) or the older DK box (big, brass, 3 headers, 7, 9 and 10 pin)
