Ok guys bare with me alittle, I picked up my first ss night rider and from what I can tell, it is in need of a mpu board. I am extremely new to these and in need of some advice. First off, It powers on with playfield and backglass lights but that seems to be about it. The led on the board does flicker once as the machine is turned on but thats it. Are these boards easilly repairable? Where can I find info on testing and repairing it? It seems to be in decent physical shape with some minor corrosion but I cant find anything that would be directly effected by it. If Im going to need a new board, where do I start looking for one other than a google search? I appreciate any input and thanks in advance!

First, start by reading this repair guide:

Second, be sure your printer is loaded with plenty of ink and lots of paper because you'll want to print it all out.

Your board may have hidden battery acid damage underneath the chip sockets. Plus, your board is likely to have the crappy sockets installed and should all be replaced with new ones.

If your board is in need of repairs beyond your capability, there are a few folks here who could repair it. There are several reproduction MPU boards being made for these machines. The best one being the "Ultimate MPU" by Alltek Systems:

http://www.allteksystems.com/

It is distributed by all the major pinball parts suppliers like Steve Young's Pinball Resource, Marco Specialties, Bay Area Amusement, Pinball Life, etc.
