Nicktoons racing game disconnect issue

yeah that happens too. you could also try shooting contact cleaner or deoxit inside and scrubbing the wheel a bunch.

if the part is the exact same between steering and gas then yes you could try it, but if the pots are different resistance values or different physical size it may not work.
Oh great idea! I'll try that first, I don't have any deoxit but I do have contact cleaner. The whole cabinet could actually use a good cleaning.

The part is the same size but I didn't confirm that it was the same resistance, will check that out before I try the swap plan.

if I was to guess it's probably 5k pots all around. I haven't even seen one of these in probably 8 years. looking back that was a very abysmal phase of my life and I'm glad it's over. I never even played the game, is it good?

I think you are right. I'm hoping it's stamped on it. Saw something stamped on there but didn't bother to read it at the time. The game is basically a Mario Kart rip off. Doesnt seem too amazing but I have a 3 year old who seems to gravitate towards the sit down driving games and this one seems easy enough for him to actually play. It'll also be my only sit down driver. Down the road I'd trade it for a rush of some kind I think.

the Nicktoons Nitro games I have are very popular with the kids. I've had them want to try playing as every character on every stage... that will add up. and yeah it's a mario kart rip off, but why not go with what works. I don't know about original but nitro is semi on rails as well, so you can't really crash and have to reset. Or at least it's very lenient.

Rush are cool, but also kind of old. I would probably rather have a Cruis'n game than a Rush, but that's just me. As for drivers I seem to operate the new super bikes games (original red ones) a lot. I have 4 of them out right now. It's not the greatest game in the world but it's something different with the motorcycle to ride on. Also, I seem to be able to get them for around $400 and I fix whatever little problems they have. I find that it works best with kids 8-14. Where the other drivers can be used by 4-5 year olds. The littler kids are scared to get on the bike I think? The nice part about driving and shooting games (light guns or fixed gun shooters) is that they don't need any instructions. You just get in and start driving or blasting... I think this is why they are popular with the kids.

Mario Kart is one of my favorites from the consol for sure. If I could afford it I'd get one of those fancy newer Mario Kart arcades. I always really liked that rush 2049 back in the day. I do have a stand up cruisn but it just doesn't have much going on with it. I am thinking this will be a perfect game for the kiddos for sure.

The mario kart games are expensive (because Nintendo) but they also kinda break frequently. So if you can find one broken for a deal just jump on it. Or if you can find 2 parts cabs and make 1 good one out of them. If the power supply goes bad and dips in voltage the steering boards will stop working, and then it doesn't boot into the game.

Will definitely keep that in mind. That would be crazy wicked sweet!

switched the pots, the brake one for the steering one and that seemed to solve the problem pretty good. You can turn to the left gradually, to the right its a bit all or nothing. I think a cleaning will solve the rest of the problem, but for now its acceptable for my 3 year old to play ha ha. thanks again guys!!

if contact cleaner doesn't work then it probably means the surface inside the pot has dead spots. in which case you have to replace the whole thing. one of the guys in group chat I was telling you about is dealing with similar issues on a Daytona.

I swapped out the pot from the steering wheel which was originally having the issue with the brake pad pot and that fixed most of the issues. I'm thinking the cleaning will do the trick. Unless I have serval bad pots and it's only noticeable with steering since it's a bit more precise.

Final question regarding this nicktoons game....it takes like a legit 15 minutes to fully turn on? Is that normal? And if not normal, how does one fix that... Any ideas?

that sounds like a long time, but I don't own this game. is it installed on a hard disk drive or a thumb drive or what? If there are some motherboard features you're not using you could try disabling things in the bios one at a time.

Ya I've had games take a while, but nothing like this. It's on a hard drive. It has a USB drive connected but I think that's just the security dongle.

Could be some motherboard features. No clue what it needs and what it doesn't need so ya one at a time does make sense.. Just takes a while then as well ha ha.
