Nice Super Mario Bros. Mushroom World Pinball Score (and not the points kind!)

I scored a nice Super Mario Bros. Mushroom World pinball yesterday (it's the smaller redemption style, but still fun). Someone listed it locally on the classifieds as a "parts machine" and asked for best offer. When I called him on the phone, he told me the machine turned on and played, but it did not advance levels (you play through 7 or 8 levels by hitting targets etc...). When I asked him what he was hoping to get out of it he said "I'd be happy if I could get $50 out of it...". I agreed to the price (trying not to let him know I had just wet my pants with excitement) and went and picked it up last night. It's totally fun, but I'm sure many wouldn't really classify it as a true pinball because of it's size, but my kid loves it (he kept saying "Thanks dad!" and "This is for boys, not for dada's..." while we were setting it up).

The arcade flyer for it is at http://www.arcadeflyers.com/?page=thumbs&db=pinballdb&id=884

Also, my wife called me at work today to tell me she got to the next level, so it seems to be working fine after all (fingers crossed).

I have one, that I'm actually selling to someone down in Texas. It's pretty fun, and it's a rare little machine.

I really want one of these too. I have the full size Gottlieb Super Mario but I would love to find one of these.

Nice score!

$50? That's crazy...

I seen one for $1300. One time and never have seen one since 6+years now. Anyaway, $50 dollars is crazy I need to find a deal like that, and think about it I'd rather buy my kids this for $50 then a Playstation video game ( same price for game as for the Mario pin). Very nice score indeed. Is it working 100%? Anything wrong with it?

Need to replace some lights, ordered a rubber ring kit last night, and also got 2 new flippers (one of the flippers is cracking, the rubber is missing from it so I'm sure it's been like that a while and has been punished by the previous owner, so I will just replace them both). It needs a good scrub, but for the most part it's working great. The DMD is a little broken (some lines don't display), but not bad (only noticeable on some screens, the top line of some text won't show for example, don't think I'll replace that until it gets much worse).

This makes me want to get the full size one, I'm sure it's a blast. I've never played the full size mario cab, but I hear most people rank it among Gottliebs best. My only other pin I own is a Williams Tri-Zone. It's fun, but I actually like this mario better so far (little bit like comparing apples to oranges though). My bro-in-law got an old EM pin a while back (I think it's called "Hot Line" it's a fishing theme, it's pretty fun, I wouldn't mind getting that if he ever sells it, has a cool playfield rollover feature for an EM game). I really love pins, but due to price haven't been able to get too many (have more vids than pins).

It's SUPER easy ...I mean, there's a target that gives you an extra ball every time you hit it 4 or 5 times. For a Mario fan though - it's pretty good. It's got excellent 'remixes' of Super Mario World's music, and I believe it's the first time Charles Martinet's now-iconic Mario voice was used in a game.

I picked up a project one at an auction but sold it before I ever got around to doing anything w/ it. I'd probably get it again if it was cheap enough and in better shape.
