Lauren A******* to me
show details Apr 3 (1 day ago)

I left a message with my parents and they have not gotten back to me yet- sorry. I received offers for 700 and 800 but I am not sure if they are pulling my leg because someone emailed me and berated me for "being a greedy bit*h" and that they were going to tell people to submit fake bids.

Ugh this is what I get for trying to sell something on here rather than give it away for free.

That's the funniest - and saddest - thing I've read on here in awhile.

Ah craiglist the feeding grounds of people looking for a deal.

If there was a ad for a game you wanted and it was out of your way and If giving them more than what they wanted would seal the deal. I bet most here would do that.

Was she greedy? No, she got fair market price.
Sometime people complain because they didn't get what they wanted for the price they wanted. If you get your bargain, Great. If not stomping around complaining and sending emails doesn't show the world doesn't show off your emotional maturity

Man, the harassing e-mails are really sad to see.

Congrats on the really cool game!

I'd like to know more about the context in which she received the harrassing email, was this a person who wanted the game at her asking price and then was told they needed to bid higher to get it?
Or does someone out of the blue send her a nasty email?

I love the game, and its my 2 year old favorite, too.

Im just trying to make sure the value doesn't drop! ;)

I think your going to be OK on the value if it's not a common game.
I gotta say as old as I am (44) I never played it bitd, I played it on mame and it's alright but I guess I don't have a strong feeling for it like say DK.
I never played Zookeeper bitd either but after playing it on mame I could totally see owning one of those though...;)

Thanks Dean, it a blast, haven't played one since the 80's. You get your Cheyenne multi working?

Yep $800. I found out she originally wanted $400 so i just doubled it. The harassing emails don't surprise me, the vid and pinball flippers around here are only in it for the $ so they could care less about how they treat people.

Agred but its a cool looking game at least and not very common. I felt bad for the girl because she was getting harrased and called a greedy bitch through emails. I guess the long arm of the price police have no limits. Oh she just emailed me back so 800 I believe was the price. That's still cool to see an occasional uncommon piece pop up. Looks like a nice machine.

Yep its mostly working. The multi kit seems to have helped cure some missing/flakey audio I was getting. I need to figure out how to wipe all the highscore tables, they are filled with random characters, and I need to re-calibrate my gun as it won't register on the extreme right edge of the screen. Other than that its is all good :)

Food Fight doesn't translate well on MAME. The joystick and joystick movement are unique to the real McCoy. I used to play it on MAME too, and was underwhelmed. It's far better in real life.

(You spend 90% of your time pushing the joystick to the left. I wonder if it's re-enforced in that direction? :D )

It's not the same on MAME. In fact, it's impossible to play well on MAME. Unless you have a really high quality analog joystick and it's settings are tuned well.

If you played Gyruss with a 4-way joystick, you wouldn't quite get it either.

If you played Pole Position with a spinner, you wouldn't get it either.

I guess my feeling on it is that it's a fair game but without a deep connection from playing it in the past it doesn't have that "pull" on me.

I would like to play it on a dedicated cab at some point to truly get the "feel" of it, mame I mostly use just to get a look at the game and see if elements of it may interest me, I didn't feel the attraction for it right away so I kinda dismissed it, now Zookeeper I did get that feeling for it real quickly, I liked alot of the basic gameplay and the bonus stages with the coconuts and moving platforms were well done.
I am surprised I missed these two games but mid 84 I joined the Army and was wisked away to boot camp then went overseas shortly thereafter so by time I got back to the US it was early 87, the arcades over there were a little different and I'm pretty sure that's how I missed out on some of these not so "well known" games.
