I spend a lot of time deconverting gutted cabs, which means a lot of time spent craning my neck inside a dark cabinet. My in laws got me this light (Gorillatorch flare) for Christmas, and it has been great for arcade work.

The tripod is flexible, which is nice, and the rubberized feet are magnetic... So this thing can perch on a coin door, under a CP, etc. Here it is on a Star Wars coin box:

The led has several intensity settings and can get bright. What other light gizmos are folks using?

Man, that thing is all "War of the Worlds" lookin'...

Wife got me something similar. It's acually 3 mini flashlights that can combine together on a tripod and you can point the beams in 3 different directions. Haven't gone in a cab with it yet but I'm sure it will come in handy someday.

I also got a similar one for Christmas. I haven't used it yet, but it looks to be pretty handy.

Guess I'm old school. Still using a drop light, 23 years and counting.

Headlamps are nice in a pinch or if you're servicing games off-site.

Can you please make the pics bigger? I can't see the light you are talking about.

:p

I posted directly from my phone, where my options are a bit limited... all fixed now, thanks for the heads up!

Nice to see the hanging work light and the headlamps in the mix...

I have to agree. I tried the hanging worklamp, I've tried flashlights in my mouth and I came across a headlamp and will never go back.

My brother got me one of these at Lowe's ($30). Works good, and has a receptacle at the base that comes in handy.

Dude. You'll never know what you did before you had one of these.

True! But those always remind me of this scene:

That headlamp would rock for warehouse raids and the like, for working around the garage, I've been using these:

My wife had a garage sale and one of her friends tried to sell this and couldn't because it was missing some parts so she gave it to us. A $3 bulb, and a couple bolts and wingbuts later, this is what I use.

How hot does that get?

extremely hot, you can catch a tan off it. i have 2 of these for around the house jobs like painting rooms and working under the car ect.. they put out a ton of light but as stated they get super hot. I got mine at home depot, went through 2 before i got 2 good ones, the bulbs kept blowing (tho i used a rubber glove to install them and keep oil off which causes them to blow anyways).

Personally i still use the hanging light, and i might have 1 of those clamp on lights still also (those annoy me to no end), I have both the metal caged standard bulb type hanger, and the plastic with florescent bulb, both have outlets on them which makes them invaluable. unfortunately the florescent one has a bad switch which i've replaced twice.

as for the one that goes on your head.... yea you look like that guy. speaking of who has a ballcap with the 2-4 led's in it lol.

the OP's one however is pretty badass and i'd like to get one.
