Hi guys,

I'm considering selling a game or 2 to make room for something else. I have a pretty nice dedicated MK1 that I'm considering. Very little side fade.

Some ideas of real world value for this title would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Wade

Oh, and I've seen nice MK1s for $400ish around here. Start there and see how it goes. MK seems to be an easy sell it seems.

Some pics.

More pics.

Very little fade in the red. The CP sides and front could use some reproduction decals to really look nice. Front has been repainted, new inkjet CP overlay, new molding, new buttons. Marquee is from a conversion so it is not quite wide enough (I used black tape to cover the gap).

I would think you could get more than $400 for that one....that thing looks like it's in phenomenal shape!! Very nice!!

That one is really nice, but even in excellent shape MK1 rarely sells for more than 400 in my area. However, MK2 sells fast at 550 all day long.

Hey guys, yeah I don't get on here much any more! Sometimes I read but I don't get into the discussions much because it might be weeks before I get a chance to log on again. Still been into gameroom stuff, went to 2 pin shows this year and bought a few pins recently, but haven't been able to spend as much time on the restoration part as before. I do go into the gameroom about twice per week and my girls are old enough to play, and old enough to leave me alone when I want to play. :) What little posting I do is usually on our local forum, but it might be closing down soon.

Start at $400 and go down? Shoot, if it's only worth that I might as well wrap it up and wheel it into the storage room indefinitely and just pull it out on rotation or something. Or put my MAME guts into it and turn 2 cabinets into one. A couple of my buddies discourage me from getting rid of it for sentimental reasons, but I still have 2-3 classics on my wish list and something has to get bumped.

I dunno what to tell you brother. Start at $500 and go from there? Goz kind of reaffirmed what I said at the beginning - $400ish is what MKs seem to sell for *shrugs*. It won't do anyone any good in storage, so if you want to add something else, keep it and do so or sell it to help out.

Not arguing with you, just surprised! I haven't been watching them lately, which is why I asked.

I bet if you held out you could get 500-600, other than the midway on the front that thing looks almost mint. you can always get the front CP logo from Rich@thisoldgame (comes with sides too). complete dedicated mk1's unfaded or with little fading are quite rare, it's just a question of how bad do you want it gone (which it seems you'd almost rather keep it :D )

how clean are the back and bottom edges? any peeling/damage/swelling ect?

Thanks on the CP info, I didn't redecal because at the time there was nothing available, now that a nice accurate set is avail it makes that little project super easy.

Looking at the sides of mine, I think the red is darker than the repro sideart! The only fading is a tiny tiny bit on Johnny Cage's skin on one side. I can only tell because his skin is slightly more yellow on the other side. I'd say it's 95 percent unfaded.

There is no swelling or water damage at all. The bottom of the game looks new. The edges have a very small amount of fringe peeling and such.

Thanks for the info and tips guys.

400 for that machine is a sweet deal for the buyer when it is collector to collector. I'm use to MK1/2 machines being in the 2-400 range as well, but they are mostly projects and haven't been taken care of.

Craigslist starting point is always double the "collector to collector" price. Plus, it is X-Mas, so at 800 you might not even have to haggle.
