Fresh off the Battle of the Arcades two weekends ago and 48+ hours of Track & Field back in late December, up-and-coming classic arcade gaming star Elijah Hayter is going to attempt what few people have ever done, 1 BILLION points on the Rock-Ola classic Nibbler.

Elijah has been in contact with current record holder Tim McVey as well as past record holders and competitors Rick Carter and Dwayne Richard, honing his skills and talking strategy. He is confident he can eclipse the existing record of 1,041,767,060 ironically set the same weekend Elijah set the bar for Track & Field with an amazing score of 26,479,630.

As always, Elijah's attempt will be streamed live on his twitchtv.com channel HERE from what has come to be known as 'World Record' corner at the KenCade.

Start time is scheduled for 9:00am Pacific time Saturday, 4-7-2012.

at almost 600M he's looking pretty good.
Nice arcade in the mirror reflection. wow.

Amazing! That game looks to be pretty tough physically as well. Hitting those corners at that speed is no easy feat. I left the stream going all night and there he was in the morning, still nibbling.

ya, i watched till i had to leave today. i think he was at 756mil. or so. what was his final score?

Third best score after about 36 hours of play is not bad. He will probably try again in a few months after he has recovered.

yah, i think he can do it.

Tom Asaki stayed with my family when he came to Ottumwa for his original attempt.
That 800-900 range is really a tough spot in the marathon for some reason. must be fatigue mixing with the psychology.

Tom taught us the original patterns which were decent. but Tim cleaned them up and has very good efficiency. I relearned the patterns using Tim's latest this winter, and the long term game is much easier than what Tom had used. Tim has this game mastered.

I think he'll be fine once he cleans up a few patterns so the maze is handling his moves instead of the joystick. that'll help with fatigue.

and he's going to have to gain a little experience/wisdom in not letting emotions get him, like where he had that outburst of getting angry at the game. That was Dwayne's failure during the competition in DC. good life lesson there anyway.

cheers!
