I have a Blitz game board and have not been able to get it working. I have tried it in two cabinets.

The first cabinet has a vga convertor on it, http://www.jammaboards.com/store/cga/ega/yuv-to-vga-converter-pcb-gbs-8220/prod_291.html
It simply displays "NO SIGNAL" on the top of the screen. Sound and controls all work fine.

The second cabinet is a Marvel SuperHeroes cab. You can see in this video what happens when it is in this cab. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_kBqC0nw_8

I have tried every dip switch setting and it always comes up looking something like what's in the video.

I have attached some pics of the monitor. It works fine with other games, tested before and after Blitz. Any ideas? Thanks.

I have already tried every dip switch combo in the manual. 512x256 15khz and all graphic speed combos as well as 512x384 25khz and all graphic speed combos. Same results as the video I posted.

that actually doesn't look like a standard/medium resolution issue. if anything you would've had like a triple ghost image.

your Marvel Superheroes cab will be standard res, your other one won't work cause Blitz doesn't run VGA.

in case you didn't know, 15KHz is standard resolution (CGA), 24KHz is medium resolution (EGA), and 31KHz is high resolution (VGA).

for your U8 dipswitch bank, use the following settings:
SW1: off
SW2: on
SW3: off
SW4: off
SW5: off
SW6: off
SW7: off
SW8: off

all the ones in U9 can be set to off, maybe SW1 can be on, the manual is kind of vague but you want the one that's for CMOS coinage, not dipswitch

now after you do that, start the game up again, but this time, adjust your Horizontal and Vertical sync pots on the monitor until the picture stabilizes. you have to consider that different games output different video signals, and you're talking the difference between a Capcom CPS2 and a Midway Seattle -- they're more than worlds apart.

start with Vertical Sync, if you notice it rolling sideways, than do Horizontal Sync. if neither gets it, then you probably have a problem with your board, cause I gave you the settings to enable 8-way joysticks and standard resolution and the default graphics speed.

pay mention that once you adjust the monitor for this, you will have to repeat the same steps if you go back to MSH.

The VGA converter will automatically adjust to the signal whether it's SD, MED or HIGH resolution. I think you're board is fuxored.

really? I didn't even look at the product description. lol my bad
You know it's funny but I bought one of these adapters for a game I was having problems with. I had tried it with every single monitor I could get my hands on until I bought this adapter. The game didn't work so I tried some boards and every single one of them booted right up on the PC monitor with adapter. This let me know the board wasn't working and I ended up seeking some replacement boards. Everything worked fine with the replacement boards.

They may be off just enough on the sync rate to foil the adapter... Those were some strange boards.

Also, check the dip switches for continuity when closed. I've replaced more than one bank of switches on those boards! Those were some cheap switches being used.

I have a redemption video game called Ripper Ribbit, the jackasses before us had the original monitor re-capped and they did it wrong, wound up frying the CRT (yeah, imagine that) and took the old monitor from our DDR and put it in, all we got was a white screen. shitcanned that tube (it was perma-magnetized) and after months and months of letting it sit in storage, we put a 24.8 Makvision in it and guess what.... white screen again.

I was ordering from Jrok at the time to get an RGB converter for a supergun project (that I have yet to finish still) and on a whim decided to buy one of his sync cleaners as well. hooked that up to the Mak and guess what... game works now.

I revisited this about 2 weeks ago thinking maybe all along I was using the wrong sync pin thinking that ICE might've had some strange sync arrangement going on, but it wouldn't sync up without the sync cleaner. in fact this time I got an all black screen. not even scrambled gibberish.

so, food for thought, that sync cleaner is pretty badass.
