I just purchased a non-working NFL B/NBA Show and could use some trouble shooting help. When I turn the power on, the LED display shows what I believe to be an error # 8245d or 8245dc. Does anyone know what that error is? I also see that there is no u40 chip on the Sound I/O board. Does U40 need to be occupied? If so, where can I get one? Thanks.

Hey Tom,

I can't find a scan of the manual, but that's where I'd start for those error codes. As for the missing chip, it's totally normal for some sockets to be empty on any given PCB, but I think the only way to be sure for this PCB is to find a pic of a known working one and compare.

Bump for Tom - hopefully someone can help him out.

U40 blank is ok

Do you get any video at all?
The game you have requires a 3DFX chipset - what model # of the video card do you have? Ensure the video card is good. Plug it into a PC and see if you get video from it.

Please respond here and not via PM. My inbox has become a place for support and it does no one any good that way.

Those numbers you posted aren't error codes, just startup test sequences. Flip dip #7 on the second set of dip switches and it will go through the power up test. This should give you the real error messages.

If you can, take a video of it. It can go by kind of quick.
