What do you guys think about this game? What's the going rate these days for a good working game?I've got someone trying to sell me one that isn't working, and i'm not really wanting to put much in to it to fix it and I dont know exactly what is wrong with it...so...i want to make a fair offer, but i dont want to get burned either...and I just know very little about this type of game, but...seems like it could be something to learn on or worst case maybe convert it over to something else...maybe a Gauntlet or Simpsons or something like that with multi-player.

I think its one of the best sports games hands down, amazing game with 4 players, big cabinet, always fun with a few drinks. I will never sell my blitz 99 board..

you say its not working? what are the symptoms? could be big or could be a hard drive.. Game is med. res if its dedicated.

as far as i know the joysticks are not working...not sure why. have not seen the game yet myself in person...going to look at it in the next day or so. just wanted to get some opinions before i go in.

what is a fair price on these if in good shape an working?

fair price can be anywhere from like 350-600 I would assume?? pending condition. The joysticks are 49-way so I think there optical with a power wire on them, dont quote me on this. if there all not working then I would assume its something bigger, if 1-2 dont work maybe they just need to be replaced??

i dont think any of them work...figured maybe something is not plugged in or maybe a board went out since they all stopped at once? I don't know yet...will take some pics and have more info on it in a day or so. I'm hoping its in good shape and its something simple to fix...if so I will just fix it for the lady, if not then I will bring it home for a project of some sort if the price is not bad.

Starting to get a little collection going quickly here...lol.

I looked on ebay and theres a 49 way joystick, says sold without the controller, so im not sure if the controller is on each joy or 1 controller for all 4, but thats my guess as to the problem is its one for all 4 joysticks

i've read you can convert them over to 8 way, but not sure how great that would be to play.

its fine, mines in a jamma cabinet with std res monitor, I have no problem with it, its like playing on n64.. either way, great game!!

well i picked this thing up...and man is it a heavy mother f'er....everything works fine except the joysticks? buttons work...no sticks...overall pretty good shape...some issues with the particle board on it but otherwise not bad.

just need to figure out whats up with the sticks...the guy had already tried to replace the controller board for it a couple of times...but i see some gremlins in the wire harness so not sure what has been done to it to make all 4 sticks just stop working? Guy has a kid that wants it fixed so i'm going to try to fix it up for the kid, if its too much i will buy it off the guy and go a different direction with it.

check for +5vdc at each side of the fuse there under the cp. You also should be getting a +5 and a ground at each stick... iirc its the two outside pins but i could be wrong.(look for a black wire and a red wire)

I paid $100 for my blitz, it was a steal. I got lucky, it was randomly resetting, the +5 was 4.4v... due to a new happ power supply that was never mounted or adjusted LOL... so cranking the knob fixed her right up..
decent cab and art condition fully working id say $300-600 value at this time, with $350ish bieng the value where i am..

cool i will check it out...looks like this may be a NBA conversion? is that common with these? Also noticed some of the wood inside looks to be cut up pieces of older Midway games.

could have been, alot of those midway games or the era seem to be popular conversions..

post some pics of the cab, wiring, pcbs, interesting wood recycling, etc...

i will...its still in the back of my blazer...waiting for my buddy to get over here and help me unload it...man that is the heaviest game i've ever moved.

here are the pics...you can see some of the NBA side art showing through...its in "OK" shape...needs some wood work and there is a little burn in the monitor..but nothing noticeable unless you look at it just right.

The back door is water damaged and shot, will need a new one built from plywood, but at least all the hardware is still on it.

Overall I'd say it's about a 6 or 7...

This was quite common with Williams/Midway. They'd over-order cabinets and cut up the left-overs to make other games.

in the pic where you can see the board over top of the coin door...that has some sort of old school artwork painted on it..you cant tell from that pic, i will have to get a better one from the front side and post it up and see if you guys can tell what it is..
