Most collectors feel the way this gentlemen does in this article. Our games remind many of a time when life was much more simple less complex. We have a great passion for our hobby.
A part of Americana that has been lost due to our advancements in technology. When he describes the smell of oil and metal in his article is how I feel when I crack open the inner wokings of an EM. It's a puzzle or mystery that needs to be solved.
It's euphoria to me. The smell of 40 year old wood, the sound of the score motors running, score reels advancing, and bells ringing. I often wonder what sea side arcade, amusement park, soda fountain, or bar my games resided in. These games were in places that generated happiness and memories.
The games in my collection are great discussion pieces. They bring back many great childhood memories for everyone freinds or family whom have spent time in my arcade. I'm just a part of the story that will be passed onto the next generation of collectors.
Very cool article...thanks for sharing!
