Got a sweet Dixie Narco machine today. Think I'm gonna keep it for my basement arcade. Can anyone help identify the model or give me any info on it? This is my first (and only hopefully) vending machine. I'm up for a potential trade if anyone is looking for one. Its working and in pretty nice shape. I might keep it and shine it up a bit. Where can you get replacement soda labels that go behind the clear push buttons to choose your soda.

I scored a nice 80's vintage soda machine a few months ago to go in the gameroom. I love that thing. You can either purchase new labels off ebay, or do as I did and make my own using a color printer.

Hey how much do those add to your electricity bill with the old style fridges in them?

Very Noice! mmmmmm GRAPE! Makes me wanna crack open a Grape Crush right now!

Yea I'm gonna try and get it looking tip top. Can anyone tell what model it is or tell me where I could find a manual for it??? I know nothing about these machines

awesome. It was either vending machine or change machine. I went with the change machine for my garagecade.

Thats a nice looking machine.

You need to go with a "slant shelf" machine. Beer and pop taste better in glass bottles!
They really don't add much to your electricity bill. It's like having a second fridge.

Nice Dr. Pepper machine! Looks nearly identical to mine, except yours has 8 selections and mine only has 6.
DIXIE-NARCO is the brand of pop machine. Mine is a 276, I'd imagine yours is a slightly higher model number like a 300-something.
Should be an identification tag on the left of the machine, somewhere near the bottom by where the door attaches.

EDIT: You can actually see my serial number tag on the left side of the door almost halfway up.

Here's mine, I love it!!

Here's mine; a 1964 Vendo 90. Originally I planned to sell it, but my Wife thought it would be cool to keep; and am I ever glad we did. They're great to work on and this one runs like new after a through cleaning and disassembly. We get pop out of it every day.

The outside of the cabinet was cleaned and buffed with rubbing compound, then waxed so it still has it's original wear, but shines. I painted the door assembly with appliance enamel to freshen it up and finally set it on 5 cents along with clipping a pricing decal to look right.

Ours is in the garage and they do put off a fair amount of heat, so I'd consider the ventilation and heat load of whatever room you're putting it in. As for the electric bill, I didn't notice a difference at all, but we've got a demand meter so it works a little differently.

Almost forgot- Wal-Mart has several varieties of glass bottled pop and Sam's Club has Mexican Coca Cola with real cane sugar in bottles, great stuff!

mine says
Dixie narco 368c/216-8

does that mean it's a 368 model??

Yup, you've got a 368 model. Its got a slightly higher capacity and the 8 selections, probably a few inches larger than the 6-slot models.

I had the job, when I was still a teenager, to fill the two soda machines in front of my fathers liquor store.

I remeber there was some heavy weights in the bottom of the machine to keep people from stealing the machines, and they did try. I came to work one morning and there was the Pepsi machine face down in the parking lot. They did move it a couple of feet before giving up. After that my father got rid of both machines.
