So, Friday night I had nailed down a deal with a guy in Calgary for a non-working, but decent Galaga for $300 (Fair price around here) I got up early Saturday morning all ready to make the trip and pick this badboy up. Had a cup of coffee and read my e-mails...I had one from the seller, written at 2am and titled "Mind blowing" right away I knew it couldn't be good! The e-mail stated, in short, that sometime during the night, several beers in no doubt!, he or one of his buddies realized this was machine #641 and therefore it must be worth a F*ck of alot more than I was offering. I wrote him back that #641 means nothing and that he could keep his gold plated Galaga, as I was no longer interested. I got a sheepish, hungover phonecall several hours later basically saying his wife told him to take my deal. I told him the deal was off, and the most I would now offer was $200. He wasn't too happy about that, but eventually e-mailed me that he'd take it!

I loaded up the wife and 2 kids & drove the 2 hours to his place to get it...I was greeted by a guy with a big hickey on his neck, and a grill that suggested he had recently pissed off someone with one hell of a left hook! Kind of a ghetto vibe for sure, so I got it loaded and took off asap! My wife commented that the cabinet "smelled like poor people" which cracked me up, as she doesn't usually say things like that, but I do!!!

So anyways, it is safely in my garage and ready for major surgery. The pics of the game are in his house, and the ass in the one pic is his wife's! the tired looking kids in the van are mine!

Gotta laugh @ that one :), you sure she didn't mean ass & was just being nice about it.

not only is there ass, but what also looks to be like a bottle of baby oil next to the cheap stereo. classy fellow.

LMFAO @ the ass hanging out....Was that supposed to be a marketing tactic or an invite? :D
I think it's also funny how many of us drive our games home exactly as you did...seats removed from one side of the minivan/suv with kid(s) in tow.

Congrats on the pickup...can't wait to see more pics during/after restoration :)

I felt pretty cool about my 4 games until I saw your list...lol Dammit, I wish I had more space. Your arcade is still my favorite on here though!

Thx Wolf, it's taken me many years and three houses before I could have an actual room for it all. There are a lot better collection on KLOV those collectors are just more modest :)

Your games are all in nice condition all important games from the golden age and you display them nicely.

I finished it on Dec 1...about a month after picking it up! Love how it looks with the Ms. Pac and Wizard beside it. Honey, I know I said I'd restore it and flip it, but I lied! Sorry!

You did such a great restoration job there my friend! Love your set up, it looks clean and classy. Now it's time to find a Defender or Stargate!

You know it! I'd prefer a Defender, but I think I know where there is a converted Stargate and a couple other cabs in a barn I could pick up. I need to go see if any of the 4 cabs have savable 19" crts in them. May turn a couple into 60-in1 s and flip them, keeping the monitors, of course!
