Finally picked up a dreamcast this past weekend. Been wanting one for awhile but decided to pick one up before we moved. Figured after the move I'd be busy settling down setting up the house and gameroom.

Dreamcast was an awesome system. Far superior to the PS1 at the
time.

Oh yea!!! Dreamcast. Reaaalllyy underrated. I still have mine. I preordered it from Electronics Boutique....9/9/99. I was all about it. Theres a bunch of awesome games for it. Most arent expensive.

1)First, get a couple of VMUs(the memory cards). Dont get 3rd party. Get some sega brand because they have the screens on them. Those little screens can add a lot to the games. Like on Carrier you can see your life bar. On NFL2k on 2 player mode you can call your plays on the vmu so your opponent cant see your selection. Battery life on them SUCKS though. dont feel compelled to replace the batteries when they die in the vmu....your saved games will be just fine.

2)Games:
-Soul Caliber
-Sonic Adventure
-Resident evil code veronica.
-Legacy of kain: soul reaver
-House of the dead 2
-Dynamite cop(its a reaaalllyy short game but a ton of fun and replay value)
-Power Stone(cna be expensive but tons of fun)
-Dead or Alive 2
-Shenmue

There are others....those stuck out in my head

Great find! Looks like you got a copy of Toy Commander there. I remember that being a really great game at the time. It's probably really clunky to play now, but be patient with it and the missions will start to get really complex and fun - like using a little toy jet plane to protect a Lego city from a Godzilla-like monster doll.

Other games to look out for:

House of the Dead 2
While the straight arcade-perfect mode is thoroughly enjoyable on its own, there is an "original" mode where you can find all sorts of extra items like grenade launchers and ray guns. You might still be able to find some dreamcast light guns, too.

Typing of the Dead
A fun spinoff of House of the Dead 2. The game and the keyboards are not terribly expensive, either.

Space Channel 5
It's a very short game, but oozing with personality. Looks like you can get it between $10-$20 on eBay.

Chu Chu Rocket
Very cute puzzle game. The multiplayer mode would also be a lot of fun if you have a couple extra controllers.

Power Stone 2
This one can get pretty expensive, but it's a lot of fun if you can get it. It builds on the first game by adding dynamic levels and hundreds of items and weapons to craft.

burned a thousand of these back in the day! if you own a DC, this is a must

there was even a work around to allow you to swap out the music from MvC2 with your own audio tracks (not sure if this would work for other games, as this is the only one i ever tried since the original soundtrack is so terrible!)

i made a few different MvC2 discs, depending upon my mood for music :)

All of them? :D
