The single speaker in my Jamma cabinet is kind of wimpy. Might be a dumb question, but can I hook up a couple more 8 ohm speakers on the same line? I mean, without frying my jamma boards' amps or something? Just mono lines.

I'd try it, but wanted to ask here first before I ruin something.

You might be better off just installing 1 new better speaker.

Most of the audio amps in arcade games are designed for a 4 ohm load.

So if you want to put 2 8ohm speakers on there, then you will want to run them in parallel.

The lower the resistance, the more power the amp will try to put out and could cause you issues if the amp is not rated to handle that kind of load. The reverse is true if you put higher resistance on the amp the less power you will produce, and the less load you will put on your amp.

So it's best to match the current ohms of the factory speaker, unless you want to redesign the audio amp circuit.

If it had 1 4 ohm speaker I would replaced it with 1 4 ohm speaker. Get something that's got a fairly stiff cone (not paper).
