Hello all I am relatively new to the arcade hobby and have an issue. I have two Nintendo Vs systems. One is dead and the other powers up but the graphics are not what they should be. It is hard to explain but the graphics are very blurred and you can sort of make out part of the game. There are multiple vertical mirrors of the screen but also horizontal lines across the screen. I tried two different boards. One Hogan's Alley and one Golf. Both games do the same thing. I swapped the chips on the boards and same thing. Could it be bad power to the board? I do not think it is the monitor. There is also no sound on either board. Sorry if this is cryptic not sure how to explain.

I tried adjusting monitor does not affect game to the point where it is normal.

wrong knobs.

blury = focus
horizontal lines = screen voltage to high.

both of these are on the flyback.

post a picture.

is this a red tent? or standard upgrade vs cabinet?

Here is a picture. You can see movement and can tell the screen changes.

Looks like H-Hold. They can get finicky... Like in adjustment for a sec, remove hand from knob, bam, out of adjustment. I would suggest recapping the monitor if you are comfortable doing that, otherwise, adjust that knob (H-Hold) EVER SO SLIGHTLY. Mine did the same thing.

I definitely agree with needing a cap kit.
After 25-30 years those electrolytic caps
do dry out, causing all kinds of problems.
Your sound board is also part of the monitor.
Try recapping that little board as well.

DK and vs pcbs run at different resolutions. These aren't auto sync monitors each PCb may require a tweak of the pots
