Good day all. I have "come into" a cabinet containing the greatest racing game ever, "Danny Sullivan's Indy Heat" from 1990. Everything seems to work fine- except I cannot get the coin mechanism to work. One time my brother in law hit the little wire at the bottom of the coin shoot and it gave us a few credits. SO I know it works. I just think that those mechanisms with the little hair wire that the quarter hits are wore out and need to be replaced. When I hit that wire, the lights that are on the coin slots dim a little.

Sorry for calling parts the wrong thing- I am very ignorant on the technical jargon, but I am quasi mechanical. I think I can get this fixed. I just need some help!

Any tips on how to bypass the coin-op credit system? Maybe bypass it all together and turn it into a button? I do not need the coin op to work.

I got the game for free so I don't want to go crazy with a full restoration. In fact, looking at the cabinet- I think that this thing was cobbled together, because it only has 2 wheels and gas pedals, yet it should be a 3-player game! My plan is to get it working, grab a few beers and go play the thing. And maybe someday show my 2-year-old son that simplicity is some times better than the latest and greatest.

Thank you for any help,

Ryan

those games are kind of notorious for coin jams causing lockup and reboot..

also sounds like you may have a few exposed wires at the coin doo rharness. Take a peek and fix as necessary..

as to coining up, theres a few options..

you could wire in 3 of these:

thanks for the help.

I will try the switch. I hope I can get this to work! I may try and re wire the whole coin door.

thanks for the info!

Congratulations on the great score. Danny's Sullivan's Indy Heat rules over Super Off Road. My buddy has one in his garage and everytime I'm over we have to get a race in.

got the coin slot to take a credit, now...

The turbo button works, BUT the steering wheel and gas pedal will not work! ARGH!!

this is frustrating. Any help would be great.

thanks in advance!
