All, I'm fairly adept at 80's era arcade machines, but I recently got a 74 Williams Triple Action Machine that worked a few days ago. But, now when I turn the switch on and press the left paddle button, it just keeps churning and turning and seems like it is cycling or something is stuck. The numbers have turned to zero but it just seems like something is stuck. I took the ball out and let it roll down to see if something happened, but no luck.

Any quick things that I can check?

Thanks!

Check the score reels to see if a wire has broken off of any of the switches.

Check the bonus unit to see that has fully reset.

Forgive me for not THANKING YOU a few months ago! It was the Bonus Unit!

I see this is a revival post but have to ask. Did you find replacement drop targets for this? two of mine came to me split withe the pieces missing so cannot repair them. Wondering if there were any resources i have missed only seems to be newer drop target stuff available. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Ken good to hear a pro chime in. Had seen there was none listed but wondered about "unlisted". Just a chip out of the one, other is missing about 3/16 of the side. Considering sourcing a cheap colored blank I can add the target to, no luck for that so far either. Thanks for the update again.

A suggestion for now would be to get a small, thin piece of plexiglass cut to the size of the target you need, then drill the appropriate holes and paint it. Sure, it might look a bit cheesy, but it would work.

These targets are identical to some early Stern single drop target units (though in both cases, some may be blank and some may be hot-stamped with a bullseye.) So you can look for late Williams EM parts or early Stern SS parts to find them. (Someone should come up with a comprehensive game list, but Triple Action/Star Action are two of the obvious Williams ones, and Nine Ball is one of the obvious Stern ones.)

Grand Prix, Honey, Big Star, Super Star are a few more of the Williams games that used that target.
