My name is Bob. I'm 70 years old and looking for help and advice. I have the opportunity to repair numerous 80s and 90s arcade machines. In my early life, I was a TV and video engineer, so I am familiar with how game units work, but guidance on where to buy parts, get access to complete manuals would be so appreciated.

Thank you in anticipation.

Welcome Bob.

Wow! Thank you very much

Welcome to the forum. The search function in the top right will be a very good tool. However, more often than not I do a Google search for what I am looking for + KLOV and I get better results in addition to non KLOV related links on the searched topic.

Keep us posted on what fun stuff you're working on.

Welcome! And like fluxar said, use google for searching here instead...the klov search engine sucks, despite what those whose only response in new threads is "use the search" would have you believe.

Go slow.

Figure out a problem statement.

Work that problem. What would cause that to happen?

Start with POWER in all cases. Do you have all your required voltages? Do you have excessive AC Ripple on any voltages?

Try to work one problem down, and then move on.

Watch out for those plunger-type interlocks. If you have a back door off, and they are used, you have to pull the plunger out to get power to the game.

If they are turned sideways, check continuity through the interlocks to make sure they are engaged to power the game.
