The trip to New York was AMAZING!

This is just a snippet of what went down but we did get to check out 4 different Arcades. I wanted to hit up a couple more but we weren't there just for the games lol. But hey, 4 is better than none!

Who else has been to some of these?!

I honestly loved each location, but I have to say Sunshine Laundromat was by far my favorite. The atmosphere was so cool, and walking through an actual laundry mat then through a door to find a bar and the most nicest Pins I've ever seen. It was fantastic.

Awesome.
I was in NY for business last week.
Hit up Barcade while there.
Got to play this old black and white Bazooka game which was awesome.
Kind of like a Bazooka version of Sea Wolf.

Oh nice! Barcade was for sure a cool place. Was that the only place you hit up?

Very cool. I visited NYC with my girlfriend via driving in (she was visiting from Texas, I'm local as Union is only 15-30 minutes from the Holland Tunnel depending on traffic; once we parked we used the subway to get around) for the first time in probably 6 or 7 years in December of 2016 and I think this time I'm going to need a 7 year period recovery time until I ever set foot in NYC again... Can't begin to imagine how people live there on a daily basis, must be a large mental adjustment, especially since there's really no "escaping" on the daily because everything you need is inside the city. Cool place, just not for me - I am the last person you will see wearing a "I LOVE NY" T-shirt but I hope it lived up to the hype for you! Pretty weird that it's only like 15 or 30 minutes from my normal "town" (suburbs but not really) house though, and the entrance and exit of that tunnel are like two different worlds after a few minutes on each side.

It was DEFINITELY a fun time but one long day/night is definitely enough to last for a long time!

Glad to see the arcades there are doing well though.

The Barcade on 24th seems like it may be sucking wind a bit.....not the best location as far as NYC goes.

When I checked it out last year I was the only person there and it was around 6 or 7.

If you go to the one in Brooklyn anytime after 5 it will be pretty packed out daily.

I used to go in the afternoon to avoid the crowds when I lived there then stumble home and go into a coma after a bunch of beers.

Wow that is crazy. Live so close but don't go there often ha. Yeah I live in DFW Texas and it was my first time to go there. My cousin lives there and he loves it. For me, I could never live my life there lol. It is just way to fast paced and crazy.

I didn't add this into my video but I should have told the story. Long story short on the way to one of the Arcades, I believe it was Two Bits. It was our first night there, and while we were walking we saw this guy in front of us shoulder check this guy with his dog. I mean hard. He flew into this building and the wife and I just stopped in out tracks.

He then started walking towards us (This was a pretty dark street and had hardly anyone on it) and while he was headed towards us I could hear him making this weird noise with his mouth and his eyes were wide open. Crazy eyes. As he go closer I could tell he was about to shoulder check us as well, except my wife was on my right side and I was walking near the street. I had to act fast and grab her and swing her behind me and around the other direction to miss his lunge. He seriously lunged so hard when he missed he flew passed us stumbling.

we kept walking a little and once I knew she was behind me and in safety I walked towards him. He started saying " You got a problem, You got a problem " I responded " What the #$%^ is your deal, you are the one with the problem ". Then he put his fists up so I put mine up ( I am no fighter ). When I did this he reached in his jacket, and me not knowing what the hell he could have had, I ran back to my wife, grabbed her, and said RUN. Then we started to run and he yelled " Sorry ". It was the craziest and weirdest thing to happen. Especially on our first night there. We even had dinner prior to that with my cousin and I asked him straight up " Has anything crazy happened to you since you have lived here in the City" and he said " In the 6 years I have been here I have seen some stuff but nothing has happened "....... Then later that night we get almost attacked lol.

Other than that, I absolutely loved it. It's so great to visit but in no way I could actually live there.

Lmao. Yeah we went during the week and they were open late. Not crowded at all, but had fun. I wanted to hit up the other locations as well but no time. We have a Barcadia here and I was telling the guys about it and they knew about it here in Texas because they tried to use the name "Barcade" as well so they had some sort of legal issues lol.

This was the only arcade that I had a chance to hit up, although I also went over to Modern Pinball for a bit.

How'd you like it there? I thought it was a cool place, but the Sunshine Laundromat had better kept up games than Modern Pinball.

I believe it... in fairness to those guys though when they opened that place no one knew what the hell a "barcade" was.

They were pretty smart to trademark it since their plan was to open a bunch of them. Back around 2006 or whatever everyone thought it was kind of a dumb idea...they couldnt get investors (and this is around when the economy tanked).

They really missed their window to expand so now it seems pretty common and they are everywhere. It took them way too long to open a second one..

Yeah, it's pretty crazy how many Arcades are opening up now. We have 7 or so locally and more to come.

Because we don't care what you look like or what you have to say...only you do.

We just want to see the games.

You sure do speak for a lot of people! Thanks for the input but I'll continue to talk :). Just fast forward then, it won't hurt you.

I thought it was fun and went back a second time.
The machines were decent enough and a good variety considering the square footage of the place. There were a few machines that were heavily routed, but thats pretty much anywhere (especially for vintage machines). Most everything was playable with only a few machines having issues.

I agree! I do want to go back again already this year and visit all the arcades again.
