New Vision Pro 19 inch shelf mount monitor for a dedicated classic arcade game
Location: Austin, TX area (north)
I purchased this monitor new from Happ way back in 2007. Prior to its arrival, I had sorted out my monitor problems that were the catalyst for purchasing it. Since it arrived, I pushed it into a closet: never used or opened. I have since then thought it would be great in a pristine game but, looking at my collection, that isn't going to happen, either. All of my games are survivors and rescues, it would look out of place in any of them.
Recently I cleared enough room to get one more game in my collection, my final game. So, to cut to the deal, I'm looking to trade my NIB monitor for a dedicated classic arcade game, anywhere from 1978-1995. I would like this to be a well known game, like: Q*Bert, Missle Command, Star Wars, R-Type, Tron, Space Harrier, etc. Something that takes up about as much space as a Williams cab, like Robotron, that takes a standard 19 inch monitor. I know this NIB monitor can bring a max of $400-450 last time I checked at auction and, of course, value opinions vary. To get some of these big name titles, I may have to throw in some cash to make up for the value difference, or vice versa depending on the game.
This should be a working game, the monitor could need to be capped, it could have burn, etc. As long as it doesn't have water damage, I'm pretty open to dings and scratches. "Solid" is good, falling apart is not.
Anyhow, this is unopened, un-powered up, un-touched; shipping tape still attached and unbroken. I expect we would have to come together to unbox it, power it up for the first time, etc. Heck, I can even capture an unboxing video from my phone if needed when the time comes. Hopefully Happ didn't send me cinder blocks, or 'neck' it
Feel free to post your opinions in this thread. This is KLOV after all, I expect folks to offer up ideas of their own for my final game or any replies to this post. So far I have an offer of a Midway Space Invaders Deluxe UR.
Here is my game list straight out of VAPS to help you figure out what would be a good fit for the collection. I have a lot of JAMMA boards, so I'm almost positive a conversion would be out, but I'll list them here too. I have never sold a game since I started the hobby in 2006. These are all in it for the long haul (to give you an idea of the loving care the game will get under my care).
