Looking for some fresh wisdom on my brand new Battlezone. Picked up two weekends ago on an overnight trip. The board is verified working with my trusty o-scope. The Electrohome G05-802 had vertical collapse. So replaced three frame mounted transistors and verified no continuity; also new cen-07. Reflowed all my plugsand checked the rest of the big transistors.
Restarted it now I get no spot killer but just a green glow on the tube mask. REading on found out likely reason is vectors being drawn off the face of the tube so just see the glow. Fine I figure. Sounds like a bad resistor in the deflection circuit so a testing I go. Using my cocktail Asteroids DX deflection board for comparison verified all the resistors and the rest of the transistors in circuit. Now kind of at a dead end recapped both boards and high voltage and deflection seem good. Cannot find any cold solder joints and reflowed all the suspects.
From here I am going to re-verify my high voltages and make sure my HV diode is still working. After that not sure what else to do short of replacing components one by one. In Canada so shipping anywhere for repair is a beast. I rebuilt my amplifone and WG6100 not sure why this one is managing to beat me down. Just hoping for a random piece of insight here. Oh and I loved Battlezone back in the day so stoke to have this. Thanks in advance.
PS this is an issue 5 deflection and the r100 and 101 already gone.

Even issue 5 boards still had the silkscreen wrong for all the TIS98 transistors (Q500, Q501, Q601, Q602, Q603, Q604, Q701, Q702, Q703, Q704) so make sure they are installed 'backwards.' They gave up on issue 6 and just deleted the outlines.

Thanks will double check the orientations. When compared with my g05 from my asteroids all were fairly close. Next step is to pull each one and verify out of circuit. My de soldering gum likely to get a workout.

Update

Just a quick update on this one. The main issue now is my X is only abut 1/2 or less of the screen! All pins reflowed and testing good; as well as transistors resistors. Guide mentions r600 and r602 for linearity but honestly not sure i want to play with those. Thinking I will have to order scads of the TIP98s and shotgun them all. Even the X controls on pcb couldnt get the image wider; just narrower. Still workng on it; just running in circles at the moment.Even the Amplifone was kinder to me. hehe
