Getting a new toy for myself tonight just in time for Christmas, a working Birdie King 2 PCB in a Birdie King 3 cab I got off of craigslist for $50! Pics forthcoming...

It's perfectly playable and not in too bad a shape, I may try to restore it at some point so I was wondering if repro side art and CPO's for BK3 are available? There's enough left of the originals to scan and vectorize so if they're not available I may put the files out there for them.

When I played this as a kid, I remember the sound effects being much louder than the backgroud music. (It was one of my fav. games; played it on a cocktail.)

Does your board have separate volume controls for each? I'm guessing it might, not only because of what I remember, but because at least one other Taito board I know - Elevator Action - had them, too.

There is a dedicated working BK3 out by me. Strange looking green cabinet. I tried to play a game on it but the trackball was seriously gummed up and the ball only went a few feet lol.

Yeah the trackball on this one works but feels a little crunchy, first thing I'm going to do (after drilling out the locks - no keys :() is hit the hardware store and give it a fresh set of bearings. I'm really chomping at the bit to play this thing, and it's coming just in time for the long weekend so it's going to get a hell of a workout! Also the side art is comically off center, I have no idea what the person whom applied it was thinking, you'll see what I'm talking about in the pics.

BTW, what's the best way to clean a dirty white trackball? Magic Erasers? Soft Scrub? Fortunately it doesn't seem yellowed, just dirty.

I just cleaned up a track ball nice with some canned air and liquid wrench. Then put the ol' Novus to the ball. It was like night and day.

I had one years ago and really loved that green cab. Used to see them all the time, not so much anymore. Good $50 game.

Got it home last night and knocked out all the locks, looks pretty good, though it's a little moldy and there's going to be a lot of unhappy spiders before I'm done, I also screwed up the back door knocking in that lock. :( Not the end of the world, what a pain in the ass though.

BTW, DAMN that mofo is heavy!
