Hello, I am an avid collector of vintage arcade machines and an accomplished musician. Me and my wife run a professional recording studio in Atlanta, Georgia where we also collect and house some of the rarest vintage synthesizers, musical instruments and other gear in the world and I have stopped by to say hello because I am not really new to VAPS/KLOV, but new to posting here. In the late 80's early 90's, I worked as an attendant for Aladdin's Castle in Charleston, SC and Goldmine in Atlanta, Georgia. I am also an Electronics Engineer and moved here to Atlanta, Georgia where I got my degree at Georgia Tech. I like to collect the classics as well as rare finds. I have attached a picture of an unusual Krazy Kong machine cabinet that I have never seen before that we have restored and is in our collection. THe bezel and marquee artwork is rare I believe.

At the moment we have collected about 22 arcade machines some are laser disc machines. We have the top famous laser disc machines such as Dragon's Lair 1 and 2, Space Ace and Cliff Hanger.

We do all of our repairs and restorations as it is part of the satisfaction of the hobby. We own no multicades or MAME machines, nor are we in the business of making/selling multicades. We are purists to the highest degree and all of our machines are complete original dedicated cabinets and what we collect we try and put back to original functional condition as close as possible. We are always experimenting and learning about this hobby and consider ourselves new to it since we have only been doing this for about five years or so but this year the bug has really bit us! I never thought this would happen to me as starting out I only collected three of my favorites but now we have an agenda. I guess it is true. You cannot own just one.

We have a list to collect over 100 games eventually. If anyone can help us achieve this, that would be great. We have not collected any pinballs but we aim to have about 50 to 100 of those as well. Anyways, Hello everyone and hands down, we have seen this is the place to be if you are in the hobby of collecting, restoring and maintaining vintage arcades or anything else of that nature! You will see me posting more than ever before as our collection is growing. We try and collect about 20 machines or more a year. Our collection is registered here so check us out when you can! I am pleased and happy to be a part of this community.

Welcome and i wish my wife would let me collect even 10 arcades let alone 20 a year lol. I look forward to watching your collection grow :)

Its funny because she is only 24 years old. She lets me have my hobbies and I am thankful for that.

We look forward to watching our collection grow as well!

Thanks guys!

Most women don't really. When I was coming up through the 80's I rarely saw any chicks in an arcade. I mean I worked in them. My Manager, however at Aladdin's Castle was a chick. I lied to get that job and ended up being her best employee. So she said. I worked there in 1989 until June when I went off to college. I took a second job part time in 1990 for fun at the Goldmine arcade and made 90 dollars every two weeks. I got fired for playing games on the job. Lol.

Lol that hilarious. I spent my 80s in arcades as well and the only girls ever in them were the ones dragged in there by their boyfriends, which was usually the case with me as well

Ive got 12 games, my wife started putting her foot down around 8. I've had to endure some scolding from time to time on each new one since 8. I have no problem being in the bad books for a day or two to get a wanted game, it's well worth it. Once I got one for free and she bitched "what do you need that for". I got her a Centipede that she loves to play and has the high score of the house (I never play it), funny she did not bitch about that one.

No they do not bitch about, Centipede, Kangaroo, Q Bert or MS. Pacman. She likes Millipede too. You have to involve them as much as possible. That is the trick. I mean I sold her Centipede mini cabaret which she loved. I bought it for 200 bucks and made it look nice, but the side paneling was in rough shape and was an eyesore. So my compulsive behavior got the best of me. So I flipped it for 325 to a friend without asking her. That got her really pissed off! And she fell into my web. I had her where I wanted her. I found an upright for 400.00 and I mean this thing was 98% original. I rebuilt the whole thing and restored it back to its original state in the original cabinet to a cherry condition. I was amazed at how this came out! I put her name on the coin door to signify that it was her game, this game had the original Atari Stickers still for the coin door and that is where I neatly printed "Barbara's machine" on the coin door with the Atari logo and when she came home, I had it unveiled for her to play and she has been into my hobby ever since! This specimen is nice! I got a fierce blowjob from that idea too.

that's awesome but I'm just getting started but I keep getting scolded evertime I bring one home(and it's only machine #2)

Welcome, Oldworldman. Both of your collections sound very interesting. Glad you've decided to start posting up. Nice to have a fellow engineer on board.

Thanks Mech. The Guitarist in my band is a Mech Engineer. I have been to Illinois many times. I love St. Louis, I think it may be my 4th favorite city in the country. I see you like Williams games. Good choice. The sound on those games are amazing. The only Williams game I own is Joust 2 Survival of the Fittest. I can only hope that we can own more, but they seem to be the most expensive games these days.

I would like to own Bubbles, Defender, Blaster, Stargate, Robotron, Sinistar (Cockpit), NARC, and Joust

Thanks for the kind greeting.
