Hey everyone

I'm going out and looking at a Miss O pinball this weekend. They only want a ps3 in trade for it which I have an extra.
I own about 20 machines but never a pinball. It's supposed to be in good working order.
Does anyone have some tips on things to look for to test functionality. I know it's old and everything might bot be perfect but I'd still like something playable. Any advice would be appreciated!!!

As it's an EM game, 99% of everything will just be keeping it clean and well adjusted. Make sure that it's scoring correctly for shots, check all the switches real quickly (though non-working switches are an easy fix), make sure it's giving the right number of balls per credit, and finally just make sure that you feel good about the deal.

The game itself is actually pretty fun. The horseshoe shot is nice. Some people don't like the middle bumper, but it keeps things interesting, I feel.

If you pick it up, post pics and enjoy it!

Thanks for the reply. I was looking for an easy pinball to get into the pinball side of my collection before I dived into something fancy. I'll make a mental list of these things and report back hopefully with pictures tomorrow!

How about thevarioustune up kits online? I know when I get a new arcade game I immediately replace all if the buttons and joysticks to save me from having to do it later and give a good feel for each game. Would you rcommend swapping out the rubbers immediately upon receiving an old game like this? Lights, levelers, new pinball(s), waxing? What are your guys thoughts?

Rubbers, rebuild flippers, replace burnt out bulbs, new pinballs(s), leg levelers, clean cabinet outside, clean & polish plastics, clean and wax playfield.

Just a quick image from my phone as we had to set it up and then go on to other things for the evening. The game is super clean. Looks like someone took some time to restore it. The sides were painted over white which is about my only gripe. If it wasnt for that I'd almost say it was collectors value.

I didnt have too much time to figure out the complete objective of the game. I was really puzzled as to what the ticker was on the marquee. It started around 30 and after a few games was down to 25. What is the purpose of it counting down? Any other info people can give me about this game or pinballs in general would be really appreciated as I havent gotten to know this game very well yet and indeed I havent played much pinball at all period. Im grateful that such a nice pinball has graced my collection and afforded me the oppurtunity to get to learn about pinball in general.

Thanks guys!

EDIT: As I posted it, I think I just realized that that ticker on the marquee would be the credits indication (dur). I'll test out my hypothesis tomorrow, I was just consumed with getting this home and everything else I had to do today. Your comments are still appreciated!!1

Looks great! Congrats.

An EM is a great place to start with your first pin. It is a chaance to learn the basics of pinball (flippers, jet bumpers, & drop targets) My first EM lwas the start of a pinball only amusement company.

ems like tht are a good place to get your start.. the other bonus is that the playfield and backglass looks great! (backglass is the make or break thing, almost everything else can be fixed, backglass is never the same when it starts flaking)

seems to be ingood condition, congrats
number on the backbox is the credit wheel
when it's on 0 you won't be able to start a new game until you put credits on (throw money in it or activate the switch inside coindoor manually)

Im surprised by how easy it is to get extra credits. I think I have managed to stay ahead of where it started. Some games I get no extra credits but some games Ill get one or even two! This couldnt have been a very good money maker back in the day. Surley Im just not that good (I cant break passed 3000).

I was going to ask about the back glass. You can sorta see it in the picture on the guys black hair its starting to flake every so slightly. Is there anything I can get to perhaps seal it and prevent it from flaking any more?

The standard protocol is to coat the back of the glass with Krylon Triple Thick.

Just remember that is a permanent move. No going back. There's really not a whole lot you can do to screw it up, but once you put it on, it's there for life.

Lots of info on the web about this, a little searching will give you hundreds of opinions and you can make your own decision as to whether you should do it or not.

Looks like a nice machine, congrats and enjoy!
