Hey I'm about to pick up my first game tomorrow woo! I have a few questions though. Is it ok to lay the game down in the bed of a truck or does it need to stand up the whole time?

Thanks,
LZR

You can lay the game down. Make sure everything is secure. Monitor. PCB. Coin bucket. Etc. If everything is secure you're golden.

Welcome BTW... and which game is it?

i am jealous. thats one of the games i really want. that and killer instinct 2. ive had a couple games that had be adjusted after a 1.5 hour trip laying down in a truck. simple monitor adjustments but thats how i move all my games and no real problems yet

welcome btw

Yes, make sure everything is secured. Before you power up after the move, look for stray quarters, foreign bolts, nuts, and screws that may have landed in/on circuit boards.

Did I miss a Hyper Fighting on CL? Not that I'd buy the game.

If it's one of the big cabs, it'll be heavy. Just make sure the monitor doesn't move around as you tilt it back. If there is a coin box inside, take it out. Make sure the marquee (name up top) and bezel (glass or plexi in front of the monitor) aren't loose, or they may fly out. If you put it into a truck, strap it down so it doesn't slide, even if you only go a few blocks.

And if it doesn't work when you get it home for some reason, let me know and I can help you figure it out...

Yes. You can meet some of the other collectors there. Watch the forum here for a "roll call" on who is planning to attend. It's an experience if you have never been to an arcade auction.

Cool, another Austin area collector.

When I still had room for cabs I never powered them up until I opened up the back door and made sure there wasn't anything in the bottom of the cab that should not be there. In every game I own I have found screws, washers, tokens, quarters and other metal bits that needed to be removed. I used an electric leaf blower to clear the dust out and then went hunting for things. Save whatever you find, it is most likely needed in some part of the cab.

Also, take a look at the boardset after it is moved, one member here had a token that slipped between the boardsets and killed it after power up. SFII HF is the most expensive of them on CPS1 so you don't want to have to find another set.

Post a pic here once you get it, we love those here. Pics or it didn't happen will become part of your vocabulary.

So I got my game today and it came with no keys... All the doors were locked until I picked the back door! Now for the front locks. All double sided wafer :(

I was working on the collection door, single sided thank god, and guess what I found?!?! THE FRIGGIN KEYS! lol Not only did I find keys but I found replacement buttons which is great cause one of them doesnt work. wooo

Yeah, most back door and lower door keys are hanging on a hook inside the front/top door. The front/top key is probably not in there.

Also, a lot of times the back door key gets lost and the back door is just screwed on. A lot of times you can take it off, then reach through to the front and remove the cam from the front lock, allowing you to open it.

The fun stuff is when you find money inside...
