New T2 alternate translites

The third one is maybe ok...kind of? None of them are great, and I don't think any of them really fit the "look" of the movie.

Sure they look shiney and new, but the problem I have with custom translites is that the lights behind don't match up. I like the custom Getaway translite, but the flashers that line up with the police car strobes are just flashing in the clouds on the new. But, it's your personal choice.

I personally would rather have Doug Watson's beautiful painting on my machine than some crap Photoshop mashup of low-res Terminator movie stills & massive drop-shadows. Why do people even make/buy these when they're SO obviously inferior to the original piece?

While some alternate translights look good, I don't care for any of these. The original is great.

Raven is a pinball machine that really needs an alternate translite. Phet got a great translight for his Flintstones too.

There is another alternate which is more photo-realistic although a bit too much IMHO

Here is another example of a crappy alternate. ST:TNG's translite is great, these look busy and amateurish.

Not always. The original Flintstones translite is just a muted, boring mess. The alternate does a great job of following the style and lighting pattern while totally changing the art to the animated style. It's professionally printed as well, so looks great and lights up well.

I am actually experimenting with some colored LEDs right now which is really enhancing the colors, especially the blues and whites. I am using frosted reds behind Fred's smock to try and make the orange a little brighter in the smock than the lighter orangish brown of the background. So far, so good. I'll post some comparison pics when I get it dialed in. I still have all incandescents installed in he above pics.

like the majority of fan-made translites, they look like desktop wallpaper circa windows95

Bingo! There are very few that I think even look decent, and none I can think of that I would pay any kind of money for. I wouldn't put 99% of them on my game for free, let alone pay money for them. Some of the Congo and WPT ones are hideous and as others have said, the flashers and lights don't match up with the home made translites, which makes it even worse. That $100 is much better spent elsewhere.

Translight

I bought off of John on Ebay for WPT and I think the quality was A1. I bought all the versions. I can always have the original to put in but it is nice to change it up. Plus his Ebay asking is fair, I don't think he is out to get rich just recoop his time.

PLUS you would have to a fool not like the women that he uses in the full nude art. You have to go into the adult section to view it. One hell of a mancave pinball. The one above is the same but the girls are covered by chips. He offers one with the chips removed. It's nice to see the whole isn't politically correct yet.
