New Street Fighter v Tekken Trailer

Stupidest trailer ever.

This is the kind of lame-ass shit that destroyed the Street Fighter franchise and left it completely unplayable to everyone except 18 year old EMO japanese kids who dye thier hair pink and hang pictures of Nintendo DS cheat codes and Twilight posters on their walls.

Gozer has a point. It's taken me awhile and to come and go on a few Street Fighter games since SF2s. But Tekken is really the true example of his comment.

Since I am a huge fan of both the series, I think this may do great. I haven't played it yet so I can't fairly judge it just yet. SF has seemed to have kept it roots and not really alter the story line or play and characters while keeping the games new. Graphics and such may have gone through many different takes with all the crossover games and all, but the characters are still CAPCOM. ... if that makes any sense.

Tekken on the other hand has really went off the deep end with their storyline, characters and really catering to these weirdos to make a buck. Sometimes it doesn't feel like I am playing Tekken or a game from NAMCO period. Graphics are the only thing Namco has seemed to left alone. Most of the music tracks in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is that trashy dub-step crap. They have also taken Capcom's paint splat (well many companies have) because as you know it, creativity/originality is starting to become a dying thing. Another thing that seems to fuck Namco over, they listen to the wrong people, and they let too many outsiders influence or work on the tekken projects that really changes their direction.

Unlike Capcom, Namco will only listen to fans if it looks 100% like a profit raiser. ...... I'm ranting now so...
Namco will be making a Tekken X Street Fighter and I hope that Capcom makes sure that they stay inline with the game.
Give Street Fighter X Tekken a chance folks.

This won't go over well with the rabid fans of either series.

3D Street Fighter? All those fighting game douches who live and breath fighting games will be like 'OMG! Blasphemy!" cause they can't handle anything but 2D games that require more than just memorizing combos...

2D Tekken? That's just plain freaking FAIL...

I enjoy fighting games, but I take them far from seriously...unlike most fighting game fans.

You obviously haven't been keeping up with what Capcom has been doing for the last several years. Capcom could give a rat's ass what fans think. A new Mega Man game? Nope. A new Darkstalkers game? Nope. Anything new besides the same old rehashed crap? Nope.

You don't sound bitter at all!

Don't worry, I am too. Capcom is a mere shadow of its former self and will likely never be like it used to be.

Yeah I know what you mean, I've been reading the CAPCOM UNITY forums. This seems to be an issue with the marketing team. They only seem to think the way to make money is by the methods you mentioned. Yet the project team needs to stop pointing the finger 100% at them and realize that they should put in more effort and push the project themselves. Not the "Please encourage our marketing staff!" Come on, you are in the company with way more pull than we could ever have. Read the damn forums. If I'm correct this is one of the reasons why Infume left Capcom, and because of that this has lead to believe this put the hurt on the MM franchise.

I don't like how Capcom thinks that they can just re-hash or keep doing the SF2 styled updates and expect us to keep buying them. Marketing just sucks with almost every game company, but yeah Capcom I would say is by far the worst. The clothing contents or disc locked contents that we are forced to pay for. I agree with you 100%

However, what I was talking about is the direction of the fighting franchises. The story lines, style, etc etc. are a little iffy sometimes, but the characters for the most part are not like WTF? How do they tie in? Type characters. ie: Seth, Bison's evolution....

I hear you man. Capcom is in total disarray. Hell,it seems like most game companies are. I remember people not too long ago bitching about how far Konami has fell and I know a lot of people are pissed about Nintendo just up and ditching the Wii.

You don't sound bitter at all!

And I'm not bitter,I just think it sucks that gaming companies are so disconnected with their fans. Pretty sad actually.

I hate to be part of the problem but I am totally going to get Street Fighter X Tekken. I know, I know, Capcom is gouging me for every penny and I totally agree with the criticisms of them here.
But any game that allows Poison-on-Chun-li action is a must buy for me!

<I would insert some Deviant Art here but the Admins might ban me!>

My favorite two fighting game series, so I planned on being used since the game's announcement.
