New shop update

Need newer pics with cabs in there! :D

No pics yet... but it's coming along!

All the parts cabinets are hung.

The 2 big workbenches fit right in the door with the tops off. David helped me bring 'em a couple of days ago. I got the work surfaces mounted (turned 'em around and drilled new holes then sunk threaded sockets to screw 'em down to the frame) and the top frame cut down about 12" so I could have enough ceiling clearance to mount them. They were too tall!

Last night Robin & I moved the desk, chair, and the 3rd workbench in. David helped me mount the lights to the frame over the 2 big workbenches then he helped me install the upper shelf on the 3rd workbench.

I hung up the window blinds today, cleaned the desk & chair of cobwebs, repaired one spot on the desk, and mounted the magnifying lamp. I got all the epoxy chipped off the top of one work bench and all the tape residue cleaned off the top and the rubber edge of it. I also hung the retracting electrical drop cord on the ceiling in the middle of the shop.

As soon as I get the rest of the gunk cleaned up off the tops of the 2 workbenches (tomorrow night) I'll ground all 3 workbenches and assemble the JAMMA workbench so I can be back in business!

There's still a ton to do after that... assemble the Kurz Kasch workstation, assemble the old computer/game console workstation, move the mobile workbench in to the middle of the shop, install shelves above the parts cabinets, buy 11 more parts cabinets, move the file cabinets in, set up the shipping/receiving area, and put all the test equipment out on the benches. Oh, and move the toolboxes in.

And before the end of the month I have to empty one storage unit. :)

Good to know that you have a pretty slack month then... nothing much to do in July?

:)

HAH!

The day job is piled on as we just did a major product launch and I'm about to play beta manager for an upcoming release. :)

OK,

Set up the old laptop with the smaller programmer and the huge eraser in the shop... still have to dig out the 2nd eraser (buried in the garage) and maybe the third which is in storage. (Each one will do about 77 4Mb 32 pin EPROMs at a time.)

Picked up another multimeter and 2 logic probes at Fry's... another desoldering station off of eBay... and some tool holders and 3 more parts cabinets from Northern Tool.

Grabbed the shelves from the old storage building, cut them and the brackets down and mounted them above the parts cabinets on the wing walls for storing extra test equipment. I also mounted the 2 whiteboards on the wall.

While there, I picked up some 5 in 1 binding posts from Radio Shack and will be installing them on the metal workbench frames for plugging in anti-static wrist straps.

It's coming along nicely! :)

Gotta go to Target and get some trash cans tonight.

Oh, and I picked up some 8" power extenders on clearance from Radio Shack - 3 for $2.97 which helps with plugging in wall warts into power strips. I wish I could find 2 more packs at that price but no other stores nearby have them.

Wow.. Looks absolutely brilliant, love the floor!

I'll have to show you the environment I do my electronic work in one day, I'm quite sure you'll get a laugh out of it :)

If it's anything like the garage I was using at the previous house, you have my sympathies. Just ask Komodo, ekeeb, or raiden_2112 about it. :D:D:D

Do we get some more pics? Or do we have to wait until the repair party to see it? :D

You have to wait! :)

It'll be a surprise to folks who will be coming and there will be plenty of picture taking I'm sure.

I received the letter of release from my contractor stating they paid all the subs and nothing is owed by us to any sub. :)

Day before yesterday (Friday the 15th), the owner came by and cleaned up the last remaining items, took a couple of pics for their web site, and had a beer while looking over the shop.

He loved the floor I had put in. :) AND he walked away with the final check paying him for the work done.

WOOHOO!
