New shipping company created by a fellow rpger. No way am I affliated, but I am planning to use them. Supposed to be quality service and cut rate prices. Door to door, terminal to terminal, or whatever way you want to ship. Definitely way cheaper than Navl and every quote includes full insurance coverage on item. Go to coinopshippers.com. Check them out.

...

There have been several other shippers like this in the past that crashed and burned, leaving a lot of people without games and beat up games.
Erics Shipping and Randy Buffalo come to mind immediately.

Remember the chronicles of Randy... that dude was all over the place. I used him to ship a Food Fight to me and it worked out well but I don't see how he was making any money. With gas the price it is now I think this will be tough. I hope I am wrong.

Edit: And Eric would take 3 months to deliver a game. Its funny seeing people complain about 3 weeks.

These are actual trucking companies. I got a quote for Fed Freight 2 day priority from Cali to Il it was $295 with full insurance and the best I got from Navl was $455 and insurance coverage to $1500. Jeff Riveria has set us up with these deals. Check it out for your self. Just passing on the info, take it or leave. Anybody has to be cheaper and better than Navl. To me using Michelle at Navl is a deal breaker for me.

That's a great price, and means that I might be able to affordably get stuff that sometimes shows up where I usually think "yikes, shipping is going to kill me on that one".

That's what I am saying. This company has been able to work out deals with these trucking companies and cut down costs on our end as a consumer. High shipping charges was the reason I never had a pin shipped. I like I said earlier take it or leave it, anybody has to be cheaper than Navl. Good luck.

On reading this, I called up FedEx freight, and originally got a quote similar to NAVL, except FedEx requires you to wrap and pallet the item, and take it to a distribution center; then you have to pick it up at a dock in your locale. (On the plus side, FedEx gives $10k insurance.) Then, for some reason, the woman ended up giving me a 60% discount on the rate = $180, total. That was better, but since I was having the item shipped to me, those extras would've been a hassle for the seller at least, so it seemed best to just take a trip and visit my brother at the same time.

Anyone used these guys? I got a quote quickly from them, but I have been trying to schedule the shipment for two days with no response.

Jeff

EDIT: They called as soon as I "Post Reply". They said that the shipper would be calling me soon. We'll see how it goes.

I remember Jack Rabbit shipping too BITD, but he was a good guy, just trying to make money with a business model that squirts out little guys. Anyway you look at it, trying to break into the shipping business w/o a shit ton of trucks, financial backing, AND a diversified enough offering (more than just coin-ops), then its going to be an uphill battle.

Not pissing on the fire, but stating a reality with the logistics biz. Still, if your friend is excited to help out fellow game collectors, then have at it, but fun will only last for so long before shit starts breaking down and the true economics of the business model rear their ugly head.

And on a positive note.... oh look, a butterfly.

Heard back from them. They are actually using Freightwire.com. I got a quote to ship a Qix from 77612 (Buna, TX) to 20036 (Washington DC) It was $262.56. Then I contacted Freightwire and they quoted the same price. Freightwire is using FEDEX with liftgate service. The quote I got from FEDEX was $340.00. Hopefully this works out. We'll see. It's shipping out tomorrow.

Jeff
