New Repro Ms Pac cabinet from DPTWIZ and JPOPSON Wow

Well I just drove down the the border to pickup the Ms. Pac JPOPSON posted a few weeks ago FS. It was worth every cent and more. DPTWIZ build a perfect new cabinet and John painted it transplanting all original parts into it, all metal powder coated, original stick, slow original speed, orginal monitor recapped with almost no burn, new coin door metal plate, packed like Fort Knox.

The stencil job and base job were perfect. Don't hesitate to buy from these guys and don't assume the repro cabs will hurt value as they are clean, no bondo, no rott and essentially perfect new cabs.

Owning 3 repro cabs I have a hard time putting a routed game next to them unless they have been heavily restored.

More Pics

Here are some pics of the drive to pick it up. I always love the look on the border patrol when the ask what you are picking up at the border store on the US side. They always push you through fast. Today I let them know I was picking up a Ms Pac and a box full of 12" Starwars toys. They did not know what to say. Yes this game is staying in Canada :)

Again thanks John and Brett!

I saw all of the machines they offer, excellent work indeed. I even have a brand new tempest that I got from Brett. That thing is sweet. Congrats on the new ms. PAC.

I really wanted that Tempest as it looked amazing. I have one for restoration and I may just send the art to Brett and have him build a new cab. New is so much nicer always. This was as sweet as opening a NIB Robotron Mini except it did not have the Williams goodies bag of paper work but had less factory flaws and touch ups. In the day they did what they had to do to get the games out fast perfect or not.

Brett and John make sure the game is perfect which is a big difference.

thanks man! John did the bulk of that one, i built the cab tho. I wouldn't say no bondo, no wood is absolutely perfect, i do have to use a little sometimes on Knots, small voids, the occasional ding from the wood shippers. I smooth out all my cabs before i let them go, so the end user doesn't have to do much for paint prep. Usually a light scuff with 180 or 320 grit, and blow it off, it's primer ready. Glad you liked it and it got there in one piece!

FYI I have used Freight Quote to arrange shipping and used Lori Ann West as a rep for the last few games. They gave me a commercial rate of $274 shipped from Ohio (Depot) to Grand Portage MN which is rural. It was about a 2 week peroid to ship but a very good rate and no hassel. Far better than NAVL which averages around $500-$600 a game up.

They even insured it for full value which is unusual. I think this may be the best option for dealing with shipping with Brett. Pay him extra to pallet and drop off and you won't be disappointed. He can build the game cabs and he packs them professionally which is something most don't do. Custom pallets reduce shipping but a big amount.

how did the removable blocking on the pallet work out? I put those on after the game was fully wrapped, so it couldn't slide off the pallet at all. Then wrapped it again to encase the ratchet straps. I screwed them in, so you could take them off easily.

Tape the ratchet hooks next time so they are closed instead of hooks. They almost slipped off the pallet which happens with streching. Otherwise an amazing pack job almost as good as ours :). We use fridge boxes and foam backed corners but we have to pick furniture store cardboard dumpsters for those. Actually I think you did better as it arrived perfect for such a long truck haul. We have a metal banding kit we use instead for straps. But the multi layer prep work was exactly as needed. You do not skimp on prep time or materials which is the usual result for smashed or damaged games on shipping. Make sure you always charge enough for this service and stress the reason. It makes for a happy customer on the recieving end. The custom pallets always make a big difference also.

Freight Quote was good and they get cheaper as you use them and insure full value.

I'll do that next time for sure. I charge 25.00 for it, it takes me about 3 hours to build a pallet, and do all the wrapping/cardboard/wrapping etc. wood is free, i'm just using excess from the shop. straps are about 7.00 cardboard is free, used about 7.00 worth of shrinkwrap.. so i make about 3.50 an hour to pack it lol I just traded john to wrap it, and he worked on my robotron.

Awesome!!! Too bad about the Twobits CPO, marquee and maybe bezel.

Yep...Brett and John do steller work...regular game factory over there in Ohio...:D

I have to swap over my ms pac parts in the newly stenciled ms cab I got from them when I get some time ...i knew that cab wouldn't last ...I can't believe it lasted as long as it did..I tried to talk my buddy into getting it but he didn't have the money at the time...glad it went to someone who appreciates it...

The CPO, marquee, and possibly the bezel. The CPO has the odd Ms. Pac symbols, missing green/incorrect blue, and thick lines; and the marquee has the missing Midway logo, incorrect colors, missing details, and incorrect curve radius, so it is TwoBits. :( Sorry to break the news to you.
But it still looks awesome! Nice cab.

My bad..thought you were referring to the sideart.

ummm no. Pretty sure that all came from someone other than twobits. we know twobits sucks.. and we know where to get it from somewhere else, you just have to ask for it, it's not listed.

It is indeed from TwoBits. It has the exact differences and says Namco.
If it's from somewhere else, where?
Not trying to crap all over the OP, sorry.

When he says it's not, it's not.

You are not ready to know where yet. You still have a lot of manners to be learned....
