i went back and talked to the guy i got it from. he says he is almost certain there is a short in the tube, and that he had already tried replacing the flyback, and the short in the monitor caused the flyback to fail. :/ i guess at this point it would probably just be easier to nut up and look for an entire working monitor assembly... anybody selling?
