I recently purchased an old pre-WWII Console Radio. It is a non-working Zenith SW radio. My plan is to convert it into a Touchscreen jukebox for my arcade / bar area.

Now the question; I am looking for a Jules Verne meets Bioshock / Hellboy type exterior look (aside from the touchscreen). Does anyone have any suggestions on where to find metal dials, iris's, old looking analog meters (e.g. decibels, voltage, etc..)?

Also, any fit an finish suggestions / guidance would be appreciated as well!!!

The pic shows the front. The whole center will be cut out (the window and buttons) for the screen so any added items will happen on the front pillar edges, top or sides.

Thanks!

thats a nice radio... i have a 1948 Philco I will get to some day ... tell then it sits and gives man the old stink eye every time i walk past it ..lol...

See if any colleges around you have surplus auctions. I go to the UoA one fairly often, and alot of the older equipment (50s-70s) shows up all of the time. Sells pretty cheap too.

I've got an old 30's/40's Atwater Kent that was restored by a guy about 45 miles away. He did it for a living up til the early 2000's. Yours looks to be in good condition. Mine:

How are the tubes? I have a friend who collect the tubes

Can I come and check out what tubes you have? I picked up an old 1940s era RCA radio from the liquidation sale that Games People Play had last month. It is missing one tube, other than that all the lights power up so i am wondering if I find the right tube if it will work.

Sure, I'll PM you a day and time then...

I am thinking of replacing the SW Dial in the center with this... It responds to touch and sound with electricity...

Here are some pics after I applied the Howard's Restor-A. This stuss is as easy as pour on a rag and wipe! It really filled and reconditioned the scratches really well!

Found some old speaker cases and took the Klipsch apart to fit in. I drilled out the volume control to create an openeing for the tweeter...

Polished up the bezel, git an LED kit (same as I used on my pinball) for behind the slates and under the cab that react to sound and got a fabric to replace the old speaker grill cover fabric behind the slates...
