New Project: Tetris Cabaret

Not really possible, but it would be interesting to use those laminate scraps to make Tetris shapes to serve double duty as the laminate sides and the artwork
Yeah, kinda like wood veneer inlays. It would be cool, but probably a bit more work than I'm willing to put into it. I wanna get this done before summer.

Does this exist somewhere on a Jamma board?
No, I don't think it does. The creator made it specifically to be the first new Vs. game to be released in many years. I think he put out Gameboy, NES, and Vs. versions. You'd need an adapter.

Awesome. Looking forward to watching the progress, Shawn.

I always tell @CarrieZ that she can never get rid of her Klax cabaret. I play that at least once a week (on average), usually on the weekends. Coincidentally, I have a Tetris in a dynamo cab that I bought way back in like 2006 from Ross Mackie. Sometime in the future that'll go up for sale because Carrie has a Tetris board that we plan to add to the Klax with a switcher.

Came here to say KLAX is better.

But, good luck on the Tetris cabinet, I am sure it will be a fun little game when its done, Columns isn't bad and neither is Tetris. Gonna be a tight squeeze for 2P. Nice to see cabinets being used vs. hoarded.

I have a Tetris cabaret in a Midway cap (Pac)

This crappy storage unit pic is the only one I have at the moment.

If you need help with the 13" monitor mounting, review the mounts in a Rally-X mini, followed by a Bosconian mini. Other Midway minis may help. The Omega Race mini used a 15" X/Y, so probably not as helpful.

Cool, yeah, I found some really nice 2 or 3 inch angle brackets from another game but I can't place them. Each bracket is heavy gauge steel, about 21 1/2 inches long and has square punched holes in the sides for carriage bolt heads. I figure if I cut one in half it should work fine for this small cabinet. Either that or I just save these for whatever game they came in and go buy a 2' piece of heavy duty 2 inch aluminum angle. Here is the monitor I'll be using. Seems to have the perfect frame to mount on side brackets.

And here is the blank control panel that @SillyB had fabbed up for me.

What I really need to know is if space zapp used the wooden blank underneath the metal CP, or if it used another method. I know the Pacman cabarets had the wood underneath so I'm assuming the space zapp did, but I can't remember now.

Oh and here is the powder coated bezel bracket next to the unfinished marquee brackets and control panel brackets.

Tetris was the best use I could find for an old 8-liner cab I had. I stuffed a JAMMA switcher in it and added a Klax pcb as well.

Nice setup! I have a Tetris, Klax, and Mr. Driller in a temporary cab. Wife is working on her own cab. Everything will move to it when completed.

Oh, and speaking of the Wood CP undercarriage, does anyone sell those midway 'bullets' that attach to the wood and fit into these metal brackets with the oval slot?
