This is an open call to everyone for input on what "common" arcade parts I should look into carrying. I've stayed away from most common parts (sticks, buttons, trackball, chips, etc) and have concentrated on NOS parts but with more and more suppliers going under or having other problems, I may need to revisit the common parts idea.

You can email input to: [email protected] or you can post in this thread.

I will be at the AMOA show next week looking at new products to carry as well.

I've been active in the amusement biz since age 15 (1985) when I started my game route.
This business is in my blood and I'm not going anywhere. I sell parts full time. It's all I do.
I ship same day or next, most of the time within an hour of an order being placed.
I only sell what I have in stock.

Thanks for any input or suggestions.

If you can find small sized metric carriage bolts like the ones used on Nintendo coin doors and or the ones used for the metal control panels it would be cool. You can't just slap any old bolts in there because the head of the carriage bolts fits into the coindoor or CP to prevent the bolt from spinning when you fasten the nuts. Everything is metric on these Japanese cabs.

NOBODY (in the U.S.) has these and they are pretty much unfindable on the internet as well.

I would say that EXACT reproductions of the Nintendo buttons would be awesome.

Im only looking for common parts to carry that are already manufactured.
Info not want to get into reproducing things right now.

You are really the only supplier on the West Coast. I get parts from Bob in 2 days and that's fine, but anything coming from Arcadeshop or Twistedquarter takes a long time, like a week or more. If there is anything they carry that Bob doesn't you might be able to tap into the west coast market. Most of the time I am ordering cap kits and small components from Bob or Mouser but even Mouser seems to take a few days.

BTW, i just ordered some stuff from you, thanks for reminding me about your site :)

I'm surprized nobody has mentioned t-molding yet, so I will. T-molding in a few standard colors (black, black faux leather, orange, red, white, etc.), and as others have said, buttons and sticks, jamma harnesses, maybe even power supplies, leg levelers, coin mechs, locks.

yeah mylstar, like the others said, I would buy normal shit from you, not just hard to find or NOS stuff.

actually I'm going to have to give this some thought. I am sure there are many opportunities out there and I want to give a thoughtful response. edit to come later....

I am kind of with Jamburglar on this one and say carry some basic hardware that some people have trouble finding.

For example, the Nintendo screws/nuts, Neo Geo, screws/nuts/bolts for the various pieces and sizes. Unsure how expensive they would be, but I have been going around to various places (locally) and just haven't found much.
