New Product: CoinUps are now ready!

Just received mine, thanks.
I placed my order early before there were two versions. I can I tell which version I received?

Variable Pulse Width.
Didn't think there would be demand for the other type until a few mentioned about it.

1 sec delay is enough for me.

Cool product, the only downside is you have to hack your harness. If I used this I would consider building a Molex pass through (if possible) to avoid the modifying of the harness.

Hacking the harness is definently a down side, but I think a person can spend a few bucks at radiohack and come up with an inventive way to keep the harness in tact. Kudos to you for adding to the hobby. Not many of us will ever be able to contribute as you and so many others have.

There was thread not so long ago about someone wanting to use the D2K Brasington HS kit but not use the free play mode. Would this work because to switch games you have to hold down P1 & P2 for 3-5 seconds to get the menu.??

No. I've discussed it with Jeff, and the reason it is not possible at all to switch with P1+P2 is for games on location. He had been asked to add the feature, but he had tons of feature requests and decided he had to stop adding features so he could release it. :(

I'm still discussing it with him so it's possible that one day there'll be a resolution to this. :)

These are pretty cool...Though I prefer to have mine not set to freeplay and use actual coins....All I need is a change machine and to invite some people over...

The only problem is each harness has different connectors.
I suppose if your switches/buttons have blade connectors all you would have to do is grab some extra wire and crimp up a set of leads to the CoinUp and then you wouldn't have to cut any wires.

So wait... how do you switch then? Reset the game?

Jeff is full of shit... I decrytped and hacked the D2K ROMset to switch games when not in freeplay for another KLOV'er a while back... the actual code mods were about 10 minutes of work.

(Now, making it delay the start of the game until it's sure you're not switching games, to ensure it's not 'wasting' credits by starting a game THEN switching would take a little more work, but not a significant amount).

Cool item, much better than the wire trick that's on Bob Roberts site.

Hmmm... I think that's up for debate. I like simple fixes and it doesn't get much easier than just adding one jumper. ;)

Nice product though... very well thought out and implemented. :beerchug:

I had that little wire trick on a bunch of games in my game room for a while, everybody hated it...they have all since been removed.
Have you used the wire trick?

-Tim

Yep. Only game that required a little extra thought was Punch-Out!! and I ended up using a microswitch behind one of the coin returns instead. ;)

The only way to switch games is to cycle the power (or reset if you add a reset button), go into the settings menu, and change the setting (so you have to remember to change it back).
