I just replaced the power supply on Police 911. I checked the yellow wire and got 11.80 V. The red wire is 5.20 V. I plugged the powers to the pcb and chassis and when I turn on the power the fuse blows on the power supply.

Any body have any ideas what I should look at?

Thanks

Test the board. See if the 5v and ground are shorted. Also check for shorts between 12v, 5v, and ground. Something is shorted causing the fuse to blow in the power supply and it should only be supplying power to the game board.

Thanks for the info. I think I'm way over my head on this though. I have no idea how to check the 5V, 12V, and ground on the board. I noticed that when I unhooked the chassis the pcb board lite up fine but when I hooked up the chassis the fuse blew on the power supply. So I think something is wrong with the chassis. I probably have to take it to a professional to fix it.

Thanks

When you say the fuse on the power supply which fuse are you referring to? I assumed you were referring to the switching power supply, are you instead talking about the cabinet input power? If the monitor chassis is blowing this fuse then it needs to be repaired.

Where are you located? There are a ton of people here and many are willing to help people who are local to them.

I was referring to the cabinet power supply that is connected to the outlet. You wouldn't know anybody that does repair work for the wells gardner d9200 in the Maryland, washington dc, virginia area would you?

Thanks

I happen to be relatively close right now (Virginia Beach area). Unfortunately I do not carry many spare parts for the D9200. I have made a few trips to the DC area for repairs, and will gladly do so again but it may take me two trips due to not having parts on hand. If you are interested send me a PM.

There are many collectors in Northern Virginia and Maryland. In fact, many are planning to have a get together next month. If you are interested in meeting some people you should look up the thread about Crabtowne. People in that thread may also be good sources for repair help.
