Make sure she drives with two hands!
And, that the game is on the proper settings of practice "C" and race "G"
It would be a shame to invest time in to playing the game at max speed of 195mph or 225mph.
Better hide your car keys ...![]()
Picked this up yesterday and she has not stopped playing it....
Be careful when pulling those boards out and putting them back in. The edge connectors are notorious for not quite lining up properly and causing issues.
Did you get it from another collector? (basically asking if the +5/gnd hack has been done to it)
Yes, I bought this from another KLOV member here. What sould I be looking for? Thx
Wires run to test points on the PCBs, mostly. If that hasn't been done, it's really simple, and fixes a lot of the problems in that thing.
Well here some picture of the PCB. Looks like someone ran a wire from the power but it's only to the other side of the connector. I also see a battery pack with wires ran to the PCB. I guess this is to save HS but the game resets them after being unplugged? Maybe the batteries are dead?
Yeah, that looks like they ran power to the video board(the back one)... should be done to the main board as well, but you can use quick connects and just run it to the closest +5 test point on the board rather than soldering it to the edge connector. Getting the pins out is easy with the right tool(Pin Extractor). I got one from Bob a few years ago, and it was only a couple of bucks.
As for the batteries for the High Score table: use a cordless phone battery. It will recharge itself while the game is running, and work great for years. If mine wasn't such a PitA to pull out, I'd grab some pics for you. Basically you want the battery pack as far away from the board as possible. Mine is sitting in the bottom of the cabinet out of the way of anything.
Pole positions actually work?
Nice buy.
Ok, thx for the info. I just ran to the electronics store and grabbed some goodies. I'll report back when I'm done.
Thx....game ran for several hours with little to no issues. The pedal dose seems to not work in 1 out of ten games...but doing a quick up and down solves the issue.

No problem, man. It's fairly rare that I get to help someone else out around here, so when I get the chance, I do it.![]()

If you've got a little time to kill, you can check out how I got mine, and what all I went through to get it up and running. In a way, a bit of a nightmare, but a huge blessing. The first post gives the back story, and things start heating up on page 6. Page 8 is where the pictures start.

This is the repair thread, and how that actually went.

Is that thing still having trouble?? I'm sorry, man. I truly thought I had that fixed.

Iggy, don't you have a couple of EM wall games you got working again? Have you ever worked on a Worlds Series II wall game? It's PCB based and not EM, but I thought maybe you had experience. I'm trying to get mine up and running and it's pretty slow going. I could use some help...
