When cleaning and "shopping" out a machine thoroughly, does anyone else agree that new glass is a must to really highlight the work that has been done?

For the cost (especially if you buy in bulk) it's worth replacing the glass. The last time I bought in bulk it came out to like $12/sheet.

Don't know if its "required", but I must admit it makes an incredible difference. First time I changed the glass, I thought "its not bad, but I'll put a new one on" and SHAZZAM!!

cheers

If I have one scratch, that shit's gotta go. Why spend thousands of dollars on a pin and settle for nasty glass?

a new glass makes a HUGE difference and does showcase all the playfield work you did. if one is really scratched i will replace it. or if a game goes into my personal collection at home i will put a new one on. NEVER EVER EVER EVER pay $50-60 a sheet!!!!!! other than that i usually leave the old glass on and clean it with razor blade, steel wool then see EXACTLY how bad it is. i would rather settle with 10 games with nasty ass glasses that have been cleaned to the best they will look because 10 x $20 a sheet is $200......for $200 you can buy a whole another pinball machine..................
if its an a list game or a rare old wedgehead or woodrail id say to get one......or if you shopped out a game and EVERYTHING came out perfect then id splurge and get a new glass......
dont forget its only glass.....and you can buy glass anywhere, all the time.......if you dont get it now you can always get glass another time

where do you buy your pin-glass? and how much does it cost for one pin?

I don't know where he gets glass, but I get mine from pinball life for 25 bucks. Helps that I live right next to them. ;)

i get mine from a local glass shop, around 20.50 each, always has the annoying tempered etching on one corner but if installed with mark towards the head no one ever sees it.

i get my pinball glass for $12.50 a sheet and have to drive 16 miles to get it. and thats NOT bulk. i can only buy 1 if i want to. my dad owns a hardware store and he replaces windows and screens so i get a good price from his distributor. i rarely replace the glass though. i just said NOT to pay $50-60 incase any newbies on here read this post. id rather save up and buy another machine or a replacement backglass rather than buying new playfield glass for each game.........BUT id reccomend someone to change theirs because it makes a huge difference.
