I change the pinballs out of my machine (HS) every 3-4 months, when I start seeing nicks and scratches from metal hits, balls hitting each other during multiball. I change them even if they still have a great shine to them with the nicks and scrathes, I put new ones in. Theres alot of metal hits on this pin (HS). I changed them back in 1st of July, so figure it's time again to change them. I'am just trying to preserve my PF from getting worse. Is this overkill? It probably is but when do you change yours out? Oh and I always get them from pinballlife.com the glossy kind ($1.50 ones). I just got a ring kit and the guy at Actionpinball.com (my opinion is the best for rubber replacement) said every 5 years change them, I'am thinking every year. What are your thoughts on this rubber ring replacement? :) Jeff

Depends on how much you play your machine. I remember changing out the rubber rings and cleaning the PF after about 5 months of heavy use. I can't be a judge of this too well since it was my only pin at that time. I figured if it were on a popular location, that my be a better determiner of use and replacement.

Yeah, it totally all depends on amount of play. I have had to change the balls out of some machines 2-3 times more often than with others. When the balls start losing their shine or they have any visible damage at all, I swap out the pinballs.
