I got this one in a trade. I was originally supposed to get it about a year ago, but I passed the deal onto a friend because he got screwed out of the pin he was supposed to get. Now a year later the game has been cleaned up some and much work has been done, but with plenty to go. Previous owner (KLOV member Cyberflexx, and my good local friend) replaced all the target decals, and replaced all the rubber. He cleaned the hell out of it, and made the cabinet look almost new.

So far I've had to replace the upper flipper plunger, and repair the battery assembly. This one boots into audit mode, and has to be cycled twice to start normally. The battery holder is broken on one end. I did a quick fix on it which didn't solve the boot issue. Then I tested the blocking diode and it is bad. I don't have one on hand, so I have to wait until another pin order.

The cabinet and backglass are in excellent condition for a pin of this age. Probably one of my favorite back glasses of all time. ( I have a thing for Wizards & Dragons - I have a whole shelf of trinkets and snow globes dedicated to them)

As you can see, the playfield is pretty beat. Not the worst I have ever seen, but the worst I have owned. I've decided I'm just going to do some shoddy touchups to make it bearable to look at while playing. Some of it I have started and you can see in the pics. That green paint is a dead ringer eh? ;) I just used a green paint marker I had on hand. I'll fix that later. I care not for the damage that cannot be seen while actually playing. Basically all the upper playfield damage will be ignored. My main goals are fixing the wear spots in the main playfield, and touching up all of the inserts.

Other than plenty of insert lamps being out, the game plays great. The bottom flippers need rebuilt to be 100% - I'd rate them at about 75% right now. Good enough to play, and only a seasoned pin vet would find it intolerable.

Bottom line - this is a great player pin. I'll have to play it a while before I make a permanent decision on what I am going to do with it.

Sweet looking pin! I've been looking for one just because of the fantastic artwork!

Good luck getting it up to snuff!

Fun pin, looks nice. And spinners are always a big plus in my book. (Esp. the older 'real' spinners that spin like mad and register a leaf switch--not a fan of the thick newer spinners that basically click a microswitch 2-3 times on a solid shot.)

I'll confess, my only recent games on a Sorcerer are on the Wii Hall of Fame version.

sorcerer is a sweet looking game and it plays fun too. A buddy of mine reprints some of those playfields they look like new when it is done.

Once again great art package on this game. I would get one of these bad boys fo sho and as a plus they dont tend to break the bank it seems which is cool.

My -only- games on it were on an Ultrapin :( I guess that's a bit better than a wii, but Ultrapins are... well... ultrapins...

Dunno. The wii controls let you space your hands apart and have l/r/both nudging. (Does an Ultrapin have nudging?) In any case, all the Wii HoF pins also have excellent walkthough that illustrate&narrate all the shots/modes/scoring for each game, which is worth the price of admission alone imo.

Last night I put a black light over mine- not only did the instruction cards glow, but all of the little white plastic caps on the playfield do now too.. Wicked.

I've been making a point to log a few games each night the last few nights so I can get a feel for long term 'keepage' of this game. I was definitely bummed about the playfield when I first got it. Basically I leave the lights off to make it a non-issue, and play in the dark - the way pinball should be played. ;)

In short, this pin kicks total ass. Excellent light show, excellent use of flashers, excellent gameplay, just...excellent. Probably the best 'in the dark' game I have played. Once you spell sorcerer, the game just takes off. I've decided to take it off the market and keep it as a player pin. Maybe someday I will do the playfield, but not until I have knocked out many other priority projects.
