I got this one in a trade. I was originally supposed to get it about a year ago, but I passed the deal onto a friend because he got screwed out of the pin he was supposed to get. Now a year later the game has been cleaned up some and much work has been done, but with plenty to go. Previous owner (KLOV member Cyberflexx, and my good local friend) replaced all the target decals, and replaced all the rubber. He cleaned the hell out of it, and made the cabinet look almost new.
So far I've had to replace the upper flipper plunger, and repair the battery assembly. This one boots into audit mode, and has to be cycled twice to start normally. The battery holder is broken on one end. I did a quick fix on it which didn't solve the boot issue. Then I tested the blocking diode and it is bad. I don't have one on hand, so I have to wait until another pin order.
The cabinet and backglass are in excellent condition for a pin of this age. Probably one of my favorite back glasses of all time. ( I have a thing for Wizards & Dragons - I have a whole shelf of trinkets and snow globes dedicated to them)
As you can see, the playfield is pretty beat. Not the worst I have ever seen, but the worst I have owned. I've decided I'm just going to do some shoddy touchups to make it bearable to look at while playing. Some of it I have started and you can see in the pics. That green paint is a dead ringer eh?
I just used a green paint marker I had on hand. I'll fix that later. I care not for the damage that cannot be seen while actually playing. Basically all the upper playfield damage will be ignored. My main goals are fixing the wear spots in the main playfield, and touching up all of the inserts.
Other than plenty of insert lamps being out, the game plays great. The bottom flippers need rebuilt to be 100% - I'd rate them at about 75% right now. Good enough to play, and only a seasoned pin vet would find it intolerable.
Bottom line - this is a great player pin. I'll have to play it a while before I make a permanent decision on what I am going to do with it.
